Handicrafts, handmade garments, medicinal herbs, local foods, etc are some of the local products that are facing finding their real value in the market. Hence, our application LocalTech features the section of registration as sellers and customers which allows them to create their profiles. People registering themselves as sellers can list the available products along with its price. In the meantime, people registering themselves as customers can search for the required product(s) and buy the one as per their needs. So, LocalTech acts as a digital market for sellers and customers to trade local products and services helping to find the real value of the product and raising the economic status of locals. Due to the lack of waste management to make it reusable again, to build awareness and climate action with the public for the sake of health harmony between ecosystems, we developed a source (consumer) based waste management technique. The mechanism starts at the community-sorted waste collection unit. Materials to be processed, both organic and anorganic, can be obtained by giving by the public or company ordering to farmers or those who have these resources. Pricing is determined based on an agreement in accordance with the selling value of the type of material and specific situational factors. Buying and selling transactions are flexible (can be offline or online via the company website). Individuals can exchange their waste with Harmoneeds KIT whose number and variety of stuffing products are selected according to their needs and trade-in applies (to equalize the selling value). We know that this is caused by the greenhouse emissions in the environment. Our first thought was Tesla which is known for using electricity instead of fuels to function the cars when the topic of greenhouse emissions were discussed and we realized that the exhaust pipe of the cars are similar to the chimneys of factories. This is when we thought about whether there have been any current solutions to tackle the greenhouse gasses emitted by the chimneys of factories throughout the world. Based on our research, there are very few solutions to this issue and we knew that our idea(a filter) had not been carried out before. We wanted to see if we could be similar to what Tesla did, which is to use electricity to function the factories instead. However, we know that electricity is produced by burning fossil fuels which in turn produce greenhouse gasses as well. Hence, we just thought of having a filter which has not been carried out by other parties before. Hence, by placing a filter on top of the chimneys at industrial buildings and factories, it can collect all the carbon emissions and go through a filtration system which converts the polluted air into clean air(oxygen) and releases it back to the open.

Currently, the oceans are polluted with all sorts of waste. The numbers are staggering: There are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea. Although cleaning up the deep sea pollutants is not a task for a common citizen. Our shores however are full of plastic pollutants that are still harming our environment. In 2020, nearly 2.6 million pounds of trash were collected along 34,099 kilometers of the U.S. coastline. With the organization of YORG, youth groups can spend time collecting pieces of plastic waste along the shoreline, providing them with volunteering hours and hands-on experience. Since the plastic we collect during the clean-up process cannot directly be dumped into landfills(where it may take up to 1,000 years to decompose, leaching potentially toxic substances into the soil and water, further causing harm to the environment), we will direct the plastic to non-profit recycling centers around the nation, turning the unusable plastic waste into newly formed recycled flakes that can be used in new plastic products. We will also be involved in greenhouse vegetable production. We plan to build induction heated pyrolysis plants in cities with low waste plastic recycling rates. Instead of sending waste plastic to landfill or incinerators, waste plastic will be sent to pyrolysis plants and converted to fuel like diesel or gasoline. Diesel and gasoline can be consumed by local vehicles. Pyrolysis can accept a high variation of plastic types. Pyrolysis has been developed since the 70s. It has been used to decompose organic matter with heat and the absence of oxygen. The same technology can be used to decompose plastic. Major of the plastic we produced is not recycled, moreover, this plastic ends up polluting the ocean. The conventional pyrolysis process with a combustion heat source (oil, coal, or gas) is very energy intensive due to its low heat transfer coefficient. It is not economically feasible to invest in or operate commercial plastic pyrolysis without subsidy. Our purposed method \"induction heated pyrolysis\" can improve the heating efficiency can be increased from 50% to 85%. Plus, with the rapid heating property of induction heating, less dioxin is generated. The technology of pyrolysis is a way to effectively reverses the plastics production process, where hydrocarbons are used to create plastics. Instead, the process cracks the hydrocarbon chains within the plastics, to produce distilled fuels. We will use the existing recycling system and network.

This is justified by the various security and health crises that the country is currently going through, the climatic unrest and the very recent Ukrainian-Russian conflict which have greatly disrupted the local supply chains, thus leading Cameroon into a deep food crisis. Onion cultivation is one of the most important in Cameroon because of its indispensability for culinary preparations. However, its seasonal production and perishable nature influence its commercialization, thus forcing the country to import more than 40% of its commercialization at higher costs, which increases the consumer price. post-harvest losses, the absence of storage warehouses and conservation techniques are all factors that limit the performance of the sector. It is in this perspective that the idea of processing onions for the production of spice purees was born, the mission of which will be to guarantee food security for disadvantaged populations, by promoting a technique of sustainable conservation, as well as a fair distribution of income in the onion chain by supporting farmers in the sale of their productions. These spice purees have been designed according to the culinary habits of Cameroonians, and offer a unique formula for both marinades and seasonings. The pasty form allows the skilfully dosed ingredients to keep all their flavors, thus providing sufficient seasoning to enhance the taste and pleasantly flavor the meals. Their low water content guarantees a conservation of 21 to 30 days out of the cold chain. There two types of byproducts: solid ones almost ready to be used and very thing ones floating in water; this water can be pumped form the dams and treated for use, and so can these very thing particles. Considering the average price in Brazil for water after treated in its normal density and temperature it would cost 3, 06 Brazilian Reais the cubic meter, what opens another possibility of profit for the company. Many countries also suffering from tailing dams already reuse these byproducts for civil engineering purpose, because the uses are the most variable and the material prima is sitting on the dams waiting to be used, removing the expenses from exploiting them form nature. Meanwhile, we also faced another challenge regarding our environmental issues whereas the fashion industry which contributed to 18% of national income also became a source of 20% of world water pollution and 10% of carbon emission by 2019 according to the Fashion Industry Waste Statistics. For example, 16.1 million tons of mollusks are produced annually (FAO 2018) . A seashell is a hard, protective outer layer created by an animal that lives in the sea. The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches by beachcombers. The shells are empty because the animals have died and the soft parts have been eaten by omnivores and carnivores that prey on them. For every dozen oysters (z1 kg), between 370 g and 700 g of residues consists of shells .This is how sea shell are to be prepared to manufacture concrete.Hence seashells are collected, cleaned, dried and then calcined. The most common cleaning operation involved washing the seashells with water and air-drying or sun-drying the washed shells. To produce the seashell ash powder, the shells are burnt at high temperatures and ground to pass sieve #200. Burn at a temperature of 500 to 1000 C .grinding the shells before burning lowers the need for high temperatures . The temperature of seashells preparation could determine its level of crystallinity and amorphorsity and nature of the compound formed due to volatility of organic impurities and salt substances. In 2018, over one million households in the South African city of Cape Town experienced extreme rationing as the baking sun and poor management of water resulted in extreme water insecurity. Minimizing water stress levels in arid regions like Cape Town, Bio Pure is a durable cylindrically shaped container that uses a 7-step filter with each step strategically designed to attack contaminants ranging from dirt to nanobacteria. The container has a circular cap where water is poured in to be filtered and a crescent moon shaped cap where the filtered water is poured out for drinking. When the circular cap is twisted open like a bottle cap, the user will see a sieve with relatively big holes attached to the container. The benefits of using this sieve are that it\'ll first remove any large solid sediments, and it can easily be removed from the attached filter, which will play a pivotal role in easy disposal and preventing clog in the filter. Water then enters the filter, where it passes through an ultrafine sieve and a foam distributor(used to spread out the water evenly for efficient use). It then passes a mixture of sand and charcoal where the sand collects pieces of debris whereas the charcoal eliminates the water by absorbing bacteria. For the next three filters, a reverse osmosis mechanism pushes water molecules against a semi-permeable membrane, forcing unwanted molecules behind. The polyester, polysulfide, and polyamide membranes are arranged in order from broad to precise salt selectivity. An AUG pH meter on the container will be dipped into the filtered water. According to EPA, clean water should have a pH around 6.5-8.5. Taking the measurement ensures the effectiveness and balance of the process/system. Overall, Bio Pure helps desperate families regain hope and inspires future generations with clean and sustainable water.

As global warming increases on our planet, the temperature tends to increase more rapidly. This problem resulted in a continuous decrease of ice in the two polars. Moreover, the heat of the entire planet has increased. Between 1906 and 2005, The global average surface temperature rose 0.6 to 0.9 degrees Celsius. On the same level, the rate of temperature increase has nearly doubled in the last 50 years. That is why the last five years are the highest five years in temperature in the entire history of the planet. Many solutions were suggested to solve global warming and decrease its effects including reforestation, decreasing usage of greenhouse gases produced from coal and petroleum as waste products, and capturing the CO2 directly from the air. These solutions ranged in cost and effectiveness. Thus, the preferred solution I suggest is to use a direct air capture device to remove CO2 from the air. It does not prevent humans from using petroleum as an energy source while removing large amounts of carbon dioxide relative to other ways. My device can remove CO2 from the air at any place and at any time. Moreover, the carbon itself can be used in many industries like some foods, the extraction of oil in enhanced oil recovery, and the air conditioning systems. In addition, the by-product water produced from the extraction process would be treated and reused in agriculture.

It derives its core from circular economy techniques and concepts from the ReSOLVE framework of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. It employs mechanical recycling which offers promise as a way to close the loop and uses only 10-20% of the energy required to make virgin plastics. The main objective is to create an optimum closed permanent circular system that maintains and maximizes the environmental value of the PET bottle to create a quality food grade recycled PET resin that can substitute the virgin resin, and be used in identical and other types of products thereby reducing the injection of new virgin bottles into the economy as well as creating social, environmental and economic values in the process. The idea is built on these processes or activities. Post-consumer PET collection: This process ensures that various collection strategies are employed to remove the post-consumer PET bottles from the environment and also ensures bottles do not end up in landfills, oceans, drainages, ravines, etc. reclaiming a valuable resource. Post-consumer PET recycling: With the idea of waste as a valuable resource, we put the dirty bottles into a mechanical recycling process that reverse engineers the bottle and produces pure and quality food-grade recycled PET resin as output. The by-products of this process are then processed or upsized into valuable applications which is consistent with the circular economy concept that encourages zero-value waste processes, finishing the cycle of waste to landfill by adding value to all streams of the recycling process.

And I think that the two reasons for which people are not taking into consideration an electrical vehicle when buying a new one are mainly the low number of charging stations and the time the car needs for charging versus the lifetime of the battery. Sure, there are a lot of other things we can and we must do in order to avoid pollution , but when you look at the bigger picture, on a global scale, extending the batteries\' lifetimes would be an important step further. This is demonstrated to be possible by using carbon naotubes into their structure while manufacturing them. The materials that would help the batteries store more energy tend to crack and ultimately pulverize during the charging cycle: Lithium ions make the material expand during charging and then contract during discharging. As this happens repeatedly, an inactive layer forms around the material and degrades the battery performance. Our goal is to create a platform that will facilitate the daily life of young people struggling with depression, social anxiety and their families. Each user of the platform will be able to select the category of illness they suffer from or contact a specialist facilitating the identification of a problem. Mentees of the platform will meet in groups of five consisting of young people who are struggling with the same disease and one specialist. The weekly sessions will cover topics not only directly related to the disorder but also issues related to everyday life, such as events at school, weekend plans or hobbies. Sufferers of depression often have difficulty motivating themselves to perform simple tasks, so each mentee will be given three tasks to perform between sessions. These could be watching movie, reading book, or going out with friends appropriate to the mentee\'s abilities. People with depression sometimes lack contact with another human being who will understand the pain accompanying them, so users of the platform will have the opportunity to interact freely with similar peers struggling. Youth with social anxiety will participate in similar sessions. They will have the opportunity to talk about their thoughts or problems . They, too, will be given tasks, involving telling a story or reviewing a movie, which will allow them to systematically work on their illness by meeting new people in a stress-free way and being able to talk to them freely. Living with people struggling with depression or social phobia is also hard, as healthy people are unable to understand what sick people feel. Therefore, the platform will provide them with the opportunity to connect with each other through open chat, which will help create a better environment for young people with depression and social anxiety and their families.

To improve the durability and strength of the roads we can use waste hair as a binding agent by mixing it with fine and coarse aggregates of soil and make durable and robust roads from that mixture as hair is strong, durable, can absorb sunlight and it can give the black colour to the roads because of the presence of melanin in the hair. It emphasized and asked our apartment residents to make sure to separate the label and bottle when recycling our waste. It made me think about how many people would not know about this simple yet bothersome task. Whenever someone talks about pollution or how the world is changing due to global warming and overall climate change, they come up with unsustainable and vast ideas as solutions such as spreading awareness or giving education. The way this idea works is that instead of using labels on bottles (or other products), we can use thermochromic ink on plastic bottles. I believe, that even though we can spread awareness about recycling plastic bottles, many people arent aware that we need to separate the label from the whole bottle. Thermochromic ink is a type of ink that changes colors depending on the temperature of the environment around it. If you are not familiar with this ink, think about the necklaces and rings that we called mood rings in our nostalgic childhood. We used to think that they changed colors depending on our emotions, but in reality, they changed depending on the temperature of our body in touch with this very ink. Using this thermochromic ink, we can make it so that when it is in contact, the ink emerges and we can see the contents that are currently on the labels today. On the other hand, when in the refrigerator, freezer, or out of touch from our hands heat, technically a relatively low temperature, the ink changes into a translucent color which would not only be out of our view but also harmless.

Countries are in desperate need of sanitation. Especially right now in the midst of covid-19. Therefore I came up with an idea for sanitation Saponin Pea Soap. My innovation was a plant that my ancestors used called changpo or calamus to wash their hair. I dug into it and figured out that saponin could be used as an alternative for soap which was the reason why they used the plant in such a way. I researched other plants with saponin and found out that peas, leek, onion, sugar beet also had it. However I chose peas as the main material for this soap, as peas are easy to grow and are grown in different places. Thus material for saponin pea soap will be unchallenging to gain. Moreover saponin is predominantly located in the hulls of the peas. Therefore the peas seeds could be eaten as food and the hulls could be used as soap. By creating saponin soap everyone could not only gain soap but also reduce air pollution and food or money. Moreover, according to the Guardians pea pods are mostly not used as a result The pea peel wastes, which represent approximately 30 to 40 percent of the total pea weight, are available in bulk at zero cost. In other words by making Saponin Pea Soap we are using parts that are usually used as waste thus reducing food waste.

Raised in Nepal, we observed three things: Lack of climate change awareness ,Research aptitude among students and Entrepreneurship spirits. High unemployment issues and extreme levels of brain drain are the results of a lack of those inevitable things. Extreme deforestation, lack of sanitation awareness, and environmental pollution are climate-related issues right now. Likewise, we had seen a certain sort of inequality between the students of the rural and urban regions. Considering these things, we group of high school students led an initiative called Ed-tech Nepal. In our initiatives, we would reach the rural areas of Nepal by conducting workshops and seminars. Here we would aware people of the feasible effects of climate change and the steps they should take. It would take place by collaborating with local organizations working in a similar arena. Still to this date, since our idea is featured we had already implemented our Idea. We had reached two thousands people across Nepal. Likewise, we had been promoting research activities by partnering with different institutions since our Idea was featured. One-third of food produced for human consumption, approximately 1.2 billion tons, is wasted globally annually. This contributes 18% to global warming annually by generating large amounts of methane, 25 times worse than CO2. Our team proposes a solution that reuses food waste in our city and captures the methane it produces. We then use the methane to boil water, producing steam to spin a turbine that creates electricity. In addition to bioenergy production, our machine produces organic fertilizer as a by-product. We will donate it to local farmers to eliminate the use of chemical fertilizer, which pollutes our land, water, and air. In short, our solution aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create green energy to replace fossil fuels, and minimize the use of chemical fertilizers. Were currently improving our prototype. By June 2023, we will implement it in our school. Afterwards, we will obtain funding from donors, our school, and environmental clubs to build and implement our machine in schools around Ho Chi Minh city. As our project prospers, we aim to establish a company that manufactures electricity from food waste and sells it to the government to power homes. We will pitch our idea to local waste management companies such as Vietnam Waste Solutions. It is estimated that non-communicable diseases account for 27% of all deaths suffered by Kenyans, equivalent to almost 100,000 people per year (WHO, 2016). Over 50% of all hospital admissions are as a result of NCDs. This is a major public health concern which has resulted in a significant socioeconomic drag for Kenya. Diabetes and hypertension are mostly diagnosed co incidentally during hospital visits for other reasons making them very difficult to diagnose because of the poor health seeking behaviour amongst us. What A Wean is a social enterprise that seeks to enhance screening for Diabetes and Hypertension away from the hospital setting, provide linkage to treatment and free doorstep delivery of medication in a bid to enhance adherence and provide continuity of care among the undeserved population in Kenyas informal settlements. Our main objective is to enhance screening for these silent killers with the help of Community Health Volunteers (CHVs). ). These are Kenyas community-based health workers who deliver services in a defined geographical area location called a Community Health Unit. These Community Health Units are composed of approximately 5,000 people (or 1,000 households) and are served by approximately 10 CHVs. CHVs are supervised by Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), who are government employees mandated to provide health services at the household and community levels and make referrals and linkages to health facilities. We will recruit, train and employ these CHVs to provide our services at affordable rates. Our approach is different, simple but special. Most cases of Diabetes and Hypertension are diagnosed late after a complication arising from the same. With enhanced screening at the community/ household level, we are sure to witness a surge in the number of new cases with no or fewer complications.

The crux of my project is to make sanitary napkins affordable by all women , keeping in mind the welfare of our environment. Although this is an idea already thought of, many women still don\'t have access to napkins and those who do use the conventional brands, and rarely do we see the organic or environmental friendly ones in stores. My aim is to spread this across all categories of women. The main objective is to see how to bring eco friendly pads to regular supermarkets and stores. Personally, I feel that an interaction with rural women , as well as talking to someone who is in the industry or who deals in eco friendly products will assist my project. Talking to these women will give me a first hand idea as to their struggles and will widen my horizon as to how to help them. I feel that rural areas should have a pad manufacturing unit, so that it reduces carriage costs. A discussion with a person from the pad manufacturing business will allow me to understand why sanitary napkins are so costly, and why so many women don\'t have access to them. Out of 40 crore menstruating women in India, less than 20% use sanitary pads and in urban areas , almost half of the women use alternative unhygienic measures. The irony here is that usage of cosmetics is at a booming rate of 65%. A primal target of mine is to research into why there is a stigma attached to menstruation. I think not only women, but an interaction with different classes of men will bring out the reason for this. Conducting workshops in schools and colleges and creating advertisements which talk about the normalcy of periods will propel my idea.

In most African countries, particularly Cameroon, patients face difficulties accessing medical care as they have to trek/ travel for long distances to a hospital. After reaching the hospital,they queue for a long period of time before seeing the doctor. In other cases, they don\'t get to see the doctor at all as they may visit the hospital when the doctor had travelled. Situations like this discourages many patients from going to the hospital at times. Doro solves this problem as patients will be able to book their appointments with a doctor through the app and get to visit the hospital at the scheduled time. My solution has introduced a new system of storing hospital data by using cloud based technology. Most sub Saharan African inhabitants uses notebooks for hospital consultations and medical record storage. Most patients oftentimes misplace these notebooks which create difficulties to some medical personnel to make use of past data so as to administer treatments. This creates problems as some doctors end up giving some drugs to patients who are allergic to it.

Doctors' sloppy handwriting kills more than 7,000 people annually. It's a shocking statistic, and, according to a July 2006 report from the National Academies of Science's Institute of Medicine (IOM), preventable medication mistakes also injure more than 1.5 million Americans annually. Many such errors result from unclear abbreviations and dosage indications and illegible writing on some of the 3.2 billion prescriptions written in the every year. Illegible handwriting and transcription errors are responsible for as much as 61 percent of medication errors in hospitals. A simple mistake such as putting the decimal point in the wrong place can have serious consequences because a patient's dosage could be 10 times the recommended amount. Attempts have been made to improve doctor’s prescription writing. Educational interventions were found effective in addressing the problem in one study.[12] With the knowledge translation approach to improve prescription practice, there was a significant improvement in many error rates—illegible prescriptions reduced from 39.4% to 13.4% (p<0.001) and absent or illegible prescriber name from 38.3% to 27.0% (p<0.001). [14] It is recommended that a computerized physician order should be used to decrease prescription errors.[9] In the near future, the whole process may change with digital prescriptions and digital records going directly to the pharmacy and chemists from the doctor’s computer, which will take care of poor handwriting of doctors and reduce visible medical errors and mishaps. Many doctors and hospitals already use e-prescriptions, which go digitally, directly to the pharmacy. Also, technology today allows for oral prescriptions and notes, which can be transcribed, or converted to digital ones with appropriate software for speech to text transcribing. However, computerization may come with newer problems as noted by a study from Taiwan. The issue of illegible handwriting has long been brushed under the carpet, but it can be rectified, with some effort.

We are aiming to achieve carbon neutralization through carbon emission monitor and carbon trade among those carbon emissions at various level, and promote sustainable sports development and environment protection. The product is composed of light source, sample cell, optical filters and detector. The core materials are the two optical filters mounted on the detector surface. One filter is called measurement filter, chosen to pass the infrared light specific to carbon dioxide (CO2), the second filter is called reference filter. Different gas molecules have individual unique absorption wavelength by the two optical filters, enabling the exact measurement of CO2 content. Our product detects the breath carbon emission and simultaneously detects the carbon released by sweat from skin. The readout derived from detector will be connected to the cellphone app. The target consumers are professional athletes and sports enthusiasts. We expect to collect the big data of carbon intake and emission of athletes across multiple sports and sports enthusiasts as well. In doing so,I thought of developing a portable water purifying machine which I will call purity.It will be inserted in the water tanks near the water sources,systematically tasting water turbidity,temperature and pH value,inserting adequate doses of chloring gas as recommended by World Health Organization, using solar energy in order to provide safe drinking water.

Sugar cane waste and maize husks are abundant in Ghana since this crop has become one of the country\'s most popular. Ghana\'s sugar cane production was at the level of 154,361 tonnes in 2020, up from 153,697 tonnes the previous year and 1 million hectares utilised for maize cultivation, accounting for around 50-60% of Ghana\'s cereal production. Following this massive amount of maize and sugar cane cultivation, farmers burn the husks and stalks into ashes on their farmlands to prepare the soil for new cultivation. Some farmers also want to dump solid waste wherever it is in the environment and only a few of them use it for manure( fertiliser). Their bad practice of burning contributes to an increase in atmospheric carbon, which causes climate change and air pollution. Farmland nutrients and organic matter are once again depleted from their farmlands. Females in some rural communities in Ghana, on the other hand, have been suffering from menstrual poverty for many years. Plastic materials are used in the manufacture and importation of sanitary pads from other countries. These have been shown to cause organ damage in embryos, complicating development. According to our research and interviews with some of our target audience, the cost of sanitary pads is increasing on a daily basis and is currently at 8 cedi\'s per pad, making it difficult for rural people to afford due to poverty and the amount of tax imposed on them. These same pads are made of plastic and are difficult to decompose, making the environment unsustainable. Products made from fiber trans-waste will be organic, healthy, affordable, and breathable. Our goal is to help rural communities afford sanitary pads from us to cater for their menstrual period while also reducing carbons release.

Ubora Irrigation Farm is a work in progress. The perceived future is to commercialize my dream to be one of the prominent farmers in Uganda and Africa. The farm is located in Buyuki, Luwero District. I specialize in growing food crops including; irish potatoes, green pepper, maize, beans, among others. I am currently practicing rain-fed agriculture, which has presented numerous challenges due to the abrupt changes in the seasons. In my first year (2020), I incurred a huge loss, which evoked me to think outside the box about possible sustainable solutions to the irrigation issue. The research led me to irrigation farming. I settled for food crops because food is an essential part of everyone\'s wellbeing. Additionally, these food crops have a short maturing period (3-4 months), facilitating a continuous production process. My vision is to become the leading supplier of food crops in Uganda and East Africa, providing quality and fresh farm produce all year round. The specific objectives include a) to grow food crops in all seasons, b) to provide employment opportunities to young people to contribute to the reduction of the youth unemployment burden in Uganda and c) to inspire young people to embrace agriculture as a source of income. The farm currently employs the crop growth process of planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting. In the long run, this process will be followed by sorting, packaging/ storage, delivery, acknowledgment of delivery, receipt of payment, reconciliation, and reporting. I intend to install a solar powered irrigation system to facilitate environmental conservation through using solar energy rather than electricity and fossil fuels that could be harmful to the environment. Using solar energy is also more sustainable enhancing business growth.
