This enterprise was founded in 2012 by a little group of young students in ecology biodiversity and environment with objectives to: try to give a solution to the problem of waste management in the town of Douala, preserve our mangrov forest which have enough adventage to fight agains climat change and to help population with sustainable energy, create a big market of wates, reducing poverty by empowing women and youth in this market, training and educate people on waste management to offer them a cleany and healthy environment. Our activities are: production of coal using solid organics and biodegradables waste, production of ecological soap by ugged oil, tree plantation environmental assessment, sentization, conferences, debate, colloquia, simposia. Our innovative approache is recycling our smoke by pomping them in a colomn of water to make organic and mineralised water better for plants assimilation.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Kemit Ecology has a great impact on sustainable development, in fact we fight against deforestation for charcoals and climate change effects by reducing the rate of carbon dioxide gas in atmosphere as well as other climate change gas. we provide a sustainable energy adapted for more than 50% of the population of the country and the sub-region of central Africa. We are creating a market of solid organic waste in the town of Douala which is a wonderfull concept on green economy. The main achievement is to launch the operation one house three dustbin to implement in the mind of people selective waste concept which is going to provide us raw material and also give a clean environment to everybody. Another achievement is to empower 100 youths and women in the domain to fight against poverty the main objective of the millenium goal. To evalute success, we have to evaluate the quantity of trees presevs in forest due to alternative energetic solution by briquettes, we have to count the number of houses which have three dustbin and select their waste at home. We also have to evaluate the number and of youths and women empowered in the first six months and the quantity of briquettes bought in the market.
Sustainability and future plans
Sustainability of Kemit Ecology is based on disponibility of raw material, organics and bidegradables waste the attractive market because of general use of charcoal by local population for cooking, the competitive price, the disponibility of youths to cover all the customers and the easier implementation of the entreprise in the town and the fastest possibility to open annexes everywhere in the country and even in some countries in the sub-region of central Africa where raw material is present naturally. All of this contribute to fight against urban waste disorder first of all, and climate change effect by stopping deforestation to make charcoal in other. The business progression of the entreprise project to conquiert 1/3 of the market of charcoal in the first six months, then double this number by recruiting 100 youths and women after 1 year of operation and will incresse this number gradually according to the benefit. This is to fight against unemployment which is one of the most important objectve of millenium goal. The business model show the close relationship between the project, the suppier of raw material, the technical production unit which on suppier of raw material, the distributor of the final product, the workers, and the most important the customers, the others partners, the state. The financial source provides from associates but is very limited because of the cost of implementation in the field.
