Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development

As a mission driven group and social entrepreneurs, we are dedicated to serving our mission of delivering social values to the less privilege. This can be seen through our active participation in the CUIB entrepreneurial fair where, we encountered many challenges and ended up with numerous awards among which is BEST ENTREPRENEURIAL IDEA, etc. Our entrepreneurial spirit has seriously motivated a good number of our peers leading to a creation of their own projects and businesses in the CUIB community. We have been able to expand the project by employing eight other team members from diverse cultural background due to our strong culture of innovation and openness. In addition to that, Emerald Group is a financially independent organization that plans and executes earned-income strategies. Our aim is to provide this social value while remaining financially- self sufficient. Furthermore, we achieve this by blending social and profit-oriented activities to achieve self-sufficiency, reduce reliance on donations and government funding, and increase the potential of expanding the delivery of proposed social value. As a result of a growing customer base and customers satisfaction, a strong indication that our Group understands the needs of its customers and a sure sign that we are effectively reaching our target market.

Sustainability and future plans

Our initial target market lies within the cosmetics and Pharmacies markets; we have implemented two parallel marketing efforts, aimed respectively at cosmetics shops decision makers, and that of the Pharmacies. Not forgetting that a first to mind branding campaign will build Emerald Moringa soap as the leader in bedding soaps. With the financing funds coming from shares purchased by the following organizations and individuals such as CUIB community, CUIB- CERI, CUIB- OIA, CUIB- STUGA, and stake holders of the Emerald Group amounting to 2,000,000 frs CFA. This amount will be use to incur raw materials, equipments, research and development, rent and advertisement, etc. Developing a complete business plan with marketing aims and object, financial information which includes profit and loss forecasts, cash flow forecasts, sales forecasts and audited accounts will guarantee the existence of the business for a minimum of five years according to our financial projections. Using an innovative strategy of ongoing business planning, we would be monitoring whether we are achieving our business objectives. By doing this, we would maximize our chances of success by adopting a continuous and regular business planning cycle that keeps the plan up-to-date. This includes regular business planning meetings which involve key people from the business.
