Sustainable commercial beekeeping project will bring out the following impacts; 1.Increase in employment opportunities by involving different personnel in production, processing and marketing of the bee products and supplies. 2.Improved living standards and social welfare of the local key stakeholders and other stakeholders by increasing their per capital income. 3. Improved health standards through the use of bee products such as honey, pollen, royal jelly and propolis. 4. Increased food security and the alleviation of poverty as well as increase the countrys GDP. 5. Increased country's green cover and afforestation since beekeeping promotes forests management and conservation. 6. Increased market for bee products that conform with International requirements.
Sustainability and future plans
The project is expected to be financed by beekeeping stakeholders. The project will involve production of bee products through beekeeping, Processing the products and packaging the products using modern advanced technology and marketing them Nationally and Internationally. The project will be able to fund its activities through selling of processed bee-products. From the income generated, the project will be able to facilitate the implementation and purchase of more facilities used for projects management system,improvement of productivity and wax candle processing plant and pick- up that will work for finished products distribution.The project will have successfully trade chains with experienced organizations and boards such as National Beekeeping Supplies Limited, Tanzania , Small Industries Development Organizations, government agencies and international organizations, thus Improvement in social status, healthy, education and income of the people in communities and Societies.Therefore from project operations, the project guarantees high yield investment return.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
My name is Abdul Lukindo. Am 23 years old. I was born in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.Am a beekeeper and small entrepreneur of bee products(especially honey) in Tanzania. I completed Primary education in 2006 at Tumaini Primary school Dar es salaam, Tanzania,then I joined Secondary education in 2007 and completed in 2010 where I was awarded my Certificate of Secondary Education Examination. In 2011, I joined Azania Secondary school where I pursued my Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2013. Am currently pursuing Bachelor degree in Development Economics at Institute of Rural Development Planning, Dodoma,Tanzania. Since way back from Ordinary level Secondary education I had a passion and desire to be an entrepreneur. I started by making Liquid dishwashing soaps and Laundry liquid soaps and I was selling to my fellow students and selling to my local community. When I came for university level is where I came across a professional beekeeper, C.E.O of National Beekeeping Supplies limited,Tanzania, who mentored me and train me in Apiary grounds. I was very moved and touched, so I started to do beekeeping at home using local hives and involved myself in the business re-packing honey for resale. During my educational experience, I had received various awards and certificates of appreciation for involving in social and community activities.
