The Self Sustainable women of Bungokho
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Achievements We have already acquired land on which to put the poultry house as an offer. The women have already been trained on liquid soap making. The women are now being trained on business models to enable us achieve sales. Future plans This year 2016 September, massive individual marketing should start. Inclusion of one more economic activity which is snack making due to seasons and demand for them by school going children. Opening up a bank account for individual members with a bank that mainly supports rural agricultural people with favorable rates and services that can benefit both the women and their children. Measure of success At the end of a not yet predetermined time, the women should at least have 500,000/= Uganda shillings which is approximately 152US$ to enable them start up as groups engaging in various economic activities being run by themselves.
Sustainability and future plans
The business model is generally going to be the sales, marketing and group leaders playing individual roles to ensure increased sales. Revenue will be generated from sales made, 50% of which will be re-invested and the other 50% deposited to the women to enable them benefit from their efforts. Expenses will mainly be made in transport and communication. The rest of the work that require expenses will be done by the women. The project's work will entirely be financed by the proceeds from sales and any other well wishers in case they happen to come in and help. Future plan growth To have one more economic activity included. Have a two room construction to keep our equipment and act as office. To have the women form groups according to activity of interest and invest what they will have gained to enable continuity after the whole group project has achieved its main objective of each woman at least having 152usd into their accounts.
