Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Through BITO Market farmers increase their market size and money, before they used to sell their products to middlemen who buy at low price and sell at high price to buyers but now they sell directly to buyers. Many farmers are interested with this project and they start join for now we have more than ten farmers in the system. We are on the process of registration which we will finish soon. We managed to meet my goals like removing middlemen We managed to meet with different farmers in Tanzania Now we even have restaurants which receive agricultural products from BITO Market. BITO market became a partner with the main market in Dar es Salaam.
Sustainability and future plans
Since we have big market size including individual buyers, shops, food processing industries and supermarkets. BITO Market sustainability depend on charging users, competitive funds, partnership and collaborations with other companies and organizations. We plan to promote this system to reach more people because the more subscribers we get the more money we make. BITO market marketing is through online adverts, using paper marketing materials such as distribution of flyers and posters. Also is through use word of mouth, social media and Mass media, especially radio. We just created the mobile application to help those who dont have access to a computer which we will launch it soon. We plan to come with ways which will enable farmers which they dont have access to internet to sell their products in our system by creating forms which will be written in our local language (Swahili) for farmers to write their information like what they sell and at what price. And to use short message (farmer can write his/her information and send a message to us). We will also solve other farmers problem like connecting them to financial institution where they can get loans to expand their business and connecting farmers to agricultural associations.
