Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The main aim of the project is to make the citizens aware of the history and social resources in their own neighbourhoods. The projects have been developed for primary and high schools. Interactive games and activities are used to increase a sense of belonging to the district, as well as to its land, surroundings, and history. They are linked to the specific languages of the history and the geography and supported by the essential vehicle of the foreign languages. The CLIL method and the use of foreign languages connected to the particular topic allow children to become aware of the people and communities in their neighbourhood and to develop an actual sense of belonging to the context in which they are settled; furthermore the neighbourhood is a meeting point between people with different cultures and languages: children grow up knowing that every difference could be an opportunity for the cultural and human wealth. Throughout the activities the project is also going to introduce children to be familiar with the concepts of space and time. Every district has its own history, so then there are different projects. The results are connected to the goal of the project: make children, students and people even more aware and curious of their neighbourhood as an important resource and a rich soil in terms of relationships, history, openness, socialization. In terms of future impact students and people are going to acquire a new socio-cultural perspective of their own district.
Sustainability and future plans
The project is very low budget: costs are related to the school equipment used (self-financed), the intellectual costs (research of the historical and didactic material, study, organizational). Funding requested: individual quota for each child (3/5 euro each student- course: 3/ 4 lectures). Contribute local institutions (district, municipality). The association has received funding non repayable (2.000 euro) by Foundation for the history districts in the school year 2015/2016 for 600 students.
