Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development

Major impact of this project is improvement in communication among people at homes, living in rural areas to those in towns; government offices, hospitals, dispensaries, schools and colleges, private offices, centers, homes, etc.. Another impact is encouragement on use of renewable & clean sources of energies eg. Solar power than use of generators (which uses petrol and diesel), which shall conserve the nature of Tanzania and reduces pollution. These PC's shall give everyone ability to feel no difference in location when it comes to working online or offline. I have been working in solar industry for long now, mostly in rural areas and I would see many people would suffer in the way they would use their PC. They must add up an inverter for this case which is more expensive and more power will be wasted. If at all they cannot afford, they would remain with lightning and basics only. Therefore I invented this project to make possible for societies like these to connect to the external world by using these PC's. This project will also give employment opportunities to many people, including youths and elders, professionals in different departments; that's another direct and immediate impact. Time when, doctors, lawyers, teachers, forces, farmers, NGOs, etc.,can communicate within themselves and outside, however they want. Success shall be counted when everyone, everywhere can use a PC unstoppable. Success will be when environment remains green, clean and ever safer than before.

Sustainability and future plans

In this project, processes start at point of manufacturing of products; which involves finalizing the designs, production, assembling, quality testing, packaging and logistics. Currently I'm in designing stage. All products will be made available for sale at all big stores and shops in bulk; so that they would next be available at common shops. Also, there will be flagship stores in major cities in the country, where our product customers would get all products by our brand, at one place, with all necessary technical assistance and advises. The project needs sponsors to fund and invest in the idea and then benefit from the outcomes and later on can run from profits. Currently everything is under private funding for the very initial levels but then I will need more enough funds to take off to the mass production, step up by step. Upon acceptance and approval of the government contract, we would install the PC at government offices, schools, hospitals, forces, etc., as this will make good and easy communication among them independently. However, this product will be the FIRST one to be made in Tanzania, thus it will bring good insight showing real industrial revolution and technological advances. Apart from PCs, other peripherals will be manufactured in the future, including internal spare parts, memory sticks, I/O devices, etc., as well as, new softwares and apps shall be developed. Also, this would extend to manufacturing of mobiles, tablets, home appliances, etc., to make wide range of products and services available in the market, internally and externally. We aim at bringing up industrial revolution in this country and become a booming PC manufacturers in this zone.

Your profile as an entrepreneur

Joseph Ludovick, is an early entrepreneur who has a huge dream to achieve and has started to move. I'm a Tanzanian, of 27 years old. I went for my primary education 1996-2002 and ordinary & advance secondary education 2003-2009. I graduated bachelor degree in 2013, (started in 2009), electronics and telecom engineering. In 2012, jointly with my friends, I became a co-founder a technological company called PAMO Tech Engineers, Dar es Salaam. There is where my dreams started to get on the move as an entrepreneur. Four years later now I have invented this project to serve whole of Tanzania. My skills and experiences in engineering and working in villages, give all the reasons as to why this project was appropriately established & evaluated and will appropriately serve the same society. I managed to make my very own PC at home and this is the most award and motivation that keeps me moving, expecting more rewards and awards in the near future...

July 6, 2016 15:30

Hi Joseph, your PC project appear to be promising and will like to see your products in the African PC market.
Will like to know if you are setting up an assembling PC plant or do intend to source for local raw materials to manufacture this computer devices?
I will also like to suggest that if you have competitive advantage in Production of Hardwares, why not put your business focus on hardware, while you outsource or buy software to run on your PC.
this approach to business model is what HP hardware giant is using to win & sustain their market share global ly

Best wishes Engineer!

This project will be helpful to rural areas especially on record keeping by schools, hospitals (dispensaries), etc referring unavailability of electrical supply to interior parts of not only Tanzania but also other African countries while earmarked the extended distribution of power through Rural Electrification Agency (R.E.A.) with late investment on new sources of power.

For urban places I guarantee the project noting the challenge of less reliability of power as well as the cost of power utility to be saved when this project is implemented.

Best regards.
