NOT every person can actually can give stem cell to a patient. Only a donor whose white blood cell type matches to that of patient can save him.Unfortunately patients white blood cell type matches with their family members only 25% of time, so often they need to search for a match elsewhere. The probability of finding a matching white blood cell type in India is 1:20,000. In developed countries, Registries maintain the database of donors but in India with a population of 121 crore, we just have a little more than1 lakh registered donors in 4 non profit organisations.We ,Team Bugga is trying to add more people to this database in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Thereby improving chances of finding a donor.
Sustainability and future plans
How are we taking this into people? We are organizing awareness drives in colleges, corporate offices,public gathering. To register into our database all we need to do is to swab his/her cheeck with a sterile cotton and give out his contact details. So that in case of match we can contact and request for blood stem cell donation. Campaign highlights: Campaign is eco-friendly, we are printing QR codes on each sample and the details will be entered into our webpage without any use of pen/paper. Your profile as an entrepreneur
Motivation behind my project is personal thing, I lost my grand mother to this deadly disease. So I decided to change things in my state and save some lives. So I seriously worked on this project . I am quite satisfied by this project.
