Our focus is to introduce a safe medical apparatus to the healthcare (HC) sector, which protects Healthcare Providers (HCPs) from blood transmitted diseases (BTDs) infections. During the inventors career as a Nurse, he witnessed several accidental needle-stick injuries. One of the accidents happened to one of his colleagues who got infected with HBV, which ended the HCPs career and affected his life forever. This accident drove the inventor to focus on finding solutions for eliminating needle-stick injuries. According to studies, annually around 2M needle-stick injuries occur in the US and EU alone to HCPs, of which 80K get infected with HIV, HBV or HCV due to accidental injuries, which increases Billions of Dollars to the governmental healthcare budgets but most importantly affects HCPs lives and could lead to their deaths. This led to the invention of a safety cannula (The Sannula) to guarantee solutions to many of the current problems. The Sannula was modeled and simulated on a PC software and was filed and protected as an industrial design in the EU and Jordan. Today we have functional 3D printed prototypes which were successfully examined on animal (K9) trails. The Sannula underwent several phases so far as follows: Phase I The Sannula Invention was completed and caught regional attention. Phase II The Sannula got its industrial design protections nationally and in the EU. Phase III The Sannula was 3D printed as a functional prototype. Phase IV The Sannula successfully passed simulation trials & animal trials. Phase V Winner as the first Netkite competitor from Jordan in 2015 in ENPI / Netkite competition in Italy
