Explain your idea in details:

The level of Poultry, pig and fish farming in Africa and world wide are greatly expanded and their need of protein food increases, but the sources of protein (soya beans, fish, meat, and dried animal blood ) are competitive with humans and other animals hence deprive as time goes. The idea involves production of fly larvae as a protein food source. Black soldier flies (harmless to human health) found mostly in forest are housed and after 3-4 months lay eggs in coiled tubes, from there the eggs are transferred in tanks contains either human faeces, animal blood, cow dung, etc as food sources, After hatching the grown larvae (5 days) move from foods themselves or using water they float over water, then collected, washed, boiled in water and sun dried ready for use directly as chicken and animal food and packed for selling. Can be mixed with other types of foods to complete the diet, fly larvae contains about 40% of proteins for food mixture of chicken hence better for growing chicks. The residue remains after separating larvaes with their food are used as agricultural manure for crop farming as it contains a lot of organic matter. OBJECTIVE; The main objective is to produce alternative sources of protein for chickens and animal in stead of depending much on fish and meat so as to control the competitive nature of these nutrients also to help farmers expand their farms and benefit from their farming. Also this will contribute the manure for agricultural activities means act as recycling of waste material to useful materials.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

The main impacts of this technology is to improve poultry farming and fish farming in Tanzania and Africa as the sources of protein food is costful and competitive to farmers. So products will be solid at affordable prices, creating employment as the plant need workers for collecting and processing of raw materials; also the targeted groups are farmers, as the main source of raw materials from their toilets and septic tanks, cow dungs, butchers and throaters owner and waste materials which attracts flies and favor their growth and reproduction. The main measures to evaluate success is when my first products will be accepted by farmers and approved by Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority as safe for use as feed. Increase of farm products because of feeding the the chickens and fish larvae food as protein sources. Existences of greater impacts in farm products with low coast by comparing with the previous time.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The business model is simple and of low cost because involves directly farmers as raw material source and costumers of the end products. Production need a capital to setup the plant and to buy tanks for growing larva also need wire match and catching nets for housing the flies. Raw materials will be collected from different sources to the site, because the raw materials produce a bad smell the plant will be far from human settlement so as to prevent disturbances of bad smells. QUALITY OF THE PRODUCTS will be maintained through washing and boiling in water as well as sun dried and packed in a clean containers. The products will be distributed by different agents and advertising through social networks and farm deliveries. The main sources of fund are self funding, sponsors and Donner so as to start the production. Production processes will collaborates the farmers society around as the main sources of raw materials, expertise in insects, environmental conservation expertise and trade agents in distribution of products.

Hello fellow passenger,

You might have heard the famous song "What I've done" by Linkin park. The lyrics have been beautifully carved by the late singer Chester Bennington. The song covers the ways in which our so called development has helped only a handful of the upper society members, whereas people are still living in poverty.

We have a great platform here which is urging super brains from around the world to come together and collaborate with their ideas and help make this world a better place to live in. You have been a part of this community and I congratulate you on your effort that you have put in.

Thanks once again and all the best for the future

Comrades,
In this fight for a sustainable future, what we need is innovation; something which is not necessarily new, but which makes us look at things from a different angle.

I believe this is one of the major motives of this community which we are a part of. Taking one step together hand in hand towards our goal is the only way we can achieve it.

So I wish you the very best in this endeavour of yours and hope to see you together in the new tomorrow

Hello,
Being a part of India's well known Entrepreneurship Cell of the most prestigious engineering college in India, I have interacted with many startup enthusiasts, have got to know how they think and what are some qualities that set them apart from the ones who are not able to see their idea through. Reading through your idea, I have realised that your idea has that spark which can help it become a successful venture. Coupled with its aim to help the society achieve its goals sustainably, your idea can be something quite helpful for the same.

But before it's implementation, you need to do a "pre-mortem" check on how it can fail. This would prepare you for any uncalled-for circumstances and help you prepare for them accordingly.

Lastly, I would like you to have a look at our idea, GreenSpace, and share your views about the same.

Regards,
Team GreenSpace.

Dear! ULED,
Thank you for your comment to my idea, in case of how to attract those fries it is a matter of researching first the area where they are found in high number, then just supply a materials which can attract them to stop-over them and lay their eggs, time interval and the amount of products from the time of investment will depend on the inputs and almost 3 to 5 months first products will be out.

Hello,
I invite you kindly to comment my idea Path To Knowledge. I would be glad to hear your advice. I have written this message after I commented almost all ideas and projects and probably yours too. I am deeply sorry if this message bothered you, but everyone on this platform wants to go to the finals with his/her idea and makes all it is possible to get there. Maybe not all the actions are fair. Some participants copies the same meaningless message and paste it to all ideas. I just do marketing. Again, I am sorry if this message disturbed you.

Thanks Bi Anita for your comment, it is true that there a lot of bacteria in human feaces. keep in mind that what is going to be consumed is dry larvae and not feaces also processing should include germ treatment, to avoid bacterial transmition.
Apart from that most of GIT BACTERIA and others are destroyed by heat so boiling at 100oC AND Sun drying destroy all.

Hello Gibson!

Your idea is interesting and innovative, as it tends to provide an excellent and cost-effective alternative animal feed. How do you intend controlling the microbial load as faecal matter habours pathogenic microorganisms?

I wish you success and you can stop by on my idea to add your contribution.

THANKS MR. SHUHRA.
As countries across sub-Saharan Africa grapple with the challenges of sustaining high levels of economic growth, plunging commodity prices, and the effects of climate change, revitalizing agriculture must become a priority on the continent.

The latest World Bank report warns that anemic recovery in emerging markets will weigh heavily on global growth prospects. Its 2016 growth forecast for sub-Saharan Africa stands at 4.2 percent, up from 3.4 percent in 2015.

A vibrant, sustainable and resilient agriculture sector is vital for sub-Saharan Africas economic future. Indeed, African agriculture stands at the cusp of transformational change. The numbers are compelling:

Farming is the primary source of food and income for Africans and provides up to 60 percent of all jobs on the continent. For example in Tanzania and most of African countries, Agriculture is a backbone of the national economy.

Food production in sub-Saharan Africa needs to increase by 60 percent over the next 15 years to feed a growing population. Africas food and beverage markets are buoyant and expected to top $1 trillion in value by 2030
The continent is bursting with potential: At 200 million hectares, sub-Saharan Africa is home to nearly half of the worlds uncultivated land that can be brought into production. Africa uses only 2 percent of its renewable water resources compared to 5 percent globally. Together with abundant resources, including a resourceful, enterprising youth population, strategic investments in agriculture can unleash virtuous growth cycles. How can Africa, then, capitalize on these opportunities?

First, African farmers need new technologyhigher-yielding, more resilient food crops that deliver bountiful harvests. New techniques are beginning to boost yields in rice and cocoa, among other crops.

Second, African farmers need more electricity, more irrigation, and better infrastructure that links them to lucrative regional food markets.
Third, we need sound policies that do not discriminate against the farm sector. Women produce the bulk of food in Africa, and yet they are largely locked out of land ownership, access to credit, and productive farm inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, and farming tools. Further, they are often bypassed by extension services, limiting their productivity.

At the climate talks in Paris, the World Bank unveiled a bold new plan that calls for $16 billion in funding to help Africa adapt to climate change and enhance the continents resilience to climate shocks, including a focus on climate-smart agriculture and supporting the vision for accelerated agricultural transformation.

As policymakers struggle to accelerate growth and tackle prevailing headwinds, it is worth noting that the agriculture sector has been shown to be two to four times more effective than other sectors in raising incomes among the poorest people.

Best regards by GIBSON

production is easy as what is need is producing a lot of flies at a site then you set out yr tanks contains the materials and then yr work is harvesting after few days.
ALSO in case how much cost per kg it depends on how much eggs hatched per that moment.

great idea , that you want to replace the use of soy bean and fish meal, I saw the challenge you may face is productivity of flies , if not coped you wrong you also say about using human Feaces ? How will you control other bacteria which are in human feace? Don't you see you need to find other means of production to avoid myth from consumer, how much it wi.cost you do produce one kg of flie? As you said it's cheap than other protein ingredients?
Otherwise good idea look like my idea NoVfeed you read
Thank you
