Eradicating Poverty & Unemployment via Teens Financial & Business Education

Explain your idea in details:

The idea is basically aimed at building a platform to give teenagers (Secondary school students) in Nigeria both academic and business knowledge before graduating. The major objective is to completely end unemployment and poverty in Nigeria, and contribute to sustainable development by empowering teenagers and promoting entrepreneurship and financial education. Other objectives include: 1)To exploit the sharpness of mind, enthusiasm, zeal and passion of teens for more creative and innovative solution to prevailing world challenges. 2)To build a generation of independent and highly productive youths for a better future for all. 3)To convert/transform the galloping ratio of dependency in Nigeria to an unrestricted force of goal-oriented and solution-driven entrepreneurs. 4)To redefine school and bring about a change in the mindsets of students about education; from the conventional "cram, write and pass" to a unique "learn, know and practice" system. 5)To discover and nurture young talents and abilities in students, mentor and give them unlimited opportunities to live out their dreams. 6)To promote peace and equity in the world by fostering a levelled playing ground for every teen to participate in both local and international business contests just like youths. I think it's time we shift our focus from empowering just youths to those who will eventually become youths - teenagers, not with money but KNOWLEDGE! Yes, Business and Financial Knowledge/Education! Having nurtured them in specific areas of relevance and expertise to bring about one-time solutions and put an end to the trauma unemployment and poverty have caused on youths, or else we will keep empowering a set of "somewhat frustrated youths" and may never escape the impracticable cycle of annual funds allotment to "youth empowerment" in bid to end the prevalent case of poverty in Nigeria and many other countries of the world.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

This initiative will create a country with so much confidence in the ability of its youths to salvage it from impending and current challenges (poverty and unemployment) faced. It promises to build a progressive array of competent and confident teenage entrepreneurs (especially girls) from Nigeria and other developing parts of the world. It also will create a world filled with professionals in different relevant areas of the economy with the necessary motivation to build nationally recognised communities for targeted conversation to solve national economic problems. It also promises to cause a shift in the mindsets and focus of parents and guardians from just following trends and forcing their children to study to earn a degree in "high earning careers," to allowing them focus on their "passion, purpose and ability" and transform the class room to a place of sharing knowledge and learning than of competition, so students can think less of just "being certified" to "being educated." I think my idea will have lasting impact on sustainable development as it is specifically geared towards empowering the future generation (teenagers) and to give them the necessary education, skill and resources to proffer targeted solutions to the present (ours) and future (their own) needs. This is in line with the Brundtland Commission 1987 definition of Sustainable development, stated as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." This idea can be said to be achieved when more teenagers from Nigeria begin to live out their dreams, passions and ambitions with enthusiasm, without restrictions as professionals in different careers of their choice, and when there is a rapid decline in unemployed youths(especially graduates), decrease in teenage hawkers, parents allow their children to follow their passion than just money.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The business model of a Non-for-Profit-Organisation will be adopted for this project and will have the following for sustainability: SHORT-TERM PLAN 1)Establish a vocational institute called "Talents_and_Gifts_Appreciation_and_Entrepreneurship_Development"(TAGAED) centre for training in different skills like ICT,Music,Film/photography,catering,drawing/painting,handicrafts,engineering etc and mentoring them to become professionals and build businesses therewith. This will be done by employing professionals in these different fields to teach students as "mentors" not "mere instructors" so as to "nurture them and watch them thrive over time" than "fill their heads with theories and watch them drown in confusion." 2) Open a bank account for the institution for donations from individuals, organisations and other partners. 3) Encourage parents (via awareness campaigns)to support their children's aspirations by giving them the necessary moral, financial and emotional support than impose their selfish desires on them. LONG-TERM PLAN 1) Establish a school to teach students academics alongside entrepreneurship so to create a blend of the both areas. 2) Introduce the study of financial intelligence/Motivational books as necessary literatures for all students and include entrepreneurial knowledge and practice as prerequisite subjects/courses for graduation in schools. 3) Students will pay tuition and we open a bank account tagged "Business Funds" for each student where a certain percentage(say 5% of the total tuition)will be deposited, accumulated and handed over to graduating students as start-up capital for their respective "trained fields of expertise". 4)We will establish a system to replace the conventional "Maths competitions" with "targeted brainstorming and idea sharing sessions" for students to build sharper minds for more innovations, creativity and inventions that could transform the modern times. 5)Launch a website for the institution to accommodate feedbacks and testimonies from alumni to encourage newbies. I'm looking forward to collaborating with likeminded individuals and investors, and organizations such as Commercial Banks in Nigeria, Ministries of Education, UNESCO and organizations that supports establishment of NGOs for sponsorships, partnerships &other financial assistance.

Your profile

Thomas Seth Anohwonom holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has an unpublished book to his name, You too can Excel, which is targetted towards raising inspired academic gaints. His long term goal is to lead and coordinate a social enterprise focusing on teens empowerment and mentoring for sustainable nation building and development. Through this he hopes to contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the African continent. Thomas Seth is 21 years old and from Nigeria. His idea was pulled out of his rather adventurous experience as a teen with so much passion for excellence and fulfilment, he felt so much restricted to live out his dreams and display his innate potentials, "school and its promised benefits" (good employment) was the order of the day and as a result, he couldn't achieve so much as a "skilful singer, dancer and footballer" that he was, thank God he found another path early enough. He seeks to meet the need of the thousand other youth out there with similar experiences and a million other teens who are currently restricted and so not giving their best in what they do. He hopes to make the world a happy and more dream-fulfilling place!

Hello fellow passenger,

You might have heard the famous song "What I've done" by Linkin park. The lyrics have been beautifully carved by the late singer Chester Bennington. The song covers the ways in which our so called development has helped only a handful of the upper society members, whereas people are still living in poverty.

We have a great platform here which is urging super brains from around the world to come together and collaborate with their ideas and help make this world a better place to live in. You have been a part of this community and I congratulate you on your effort that you have put in.

Thanks once again and all the best for the future

Comrades,
In this fight for a sustainable future, what we need is innovation; something which is not necessarily new, but which makes us look at things from a different angle.

I believe this is one of the major motives of this community which we are a part of. Taking one step together hand in hand towards our goal is the only way we can achieve it.

So I wish you the very best in this endeavour of yours and hope to see you together in the new tomorrow

Thank you again Chloe,

Truly, I cannot express with mere words the level of delight in my heart each time I read your articulate words. There's something about the way you do it.

I actually can sense a vibe of passion for young people in you too.
I may be privileged to have put this up here but I know that my knowledge, scope of access and sphere of influence is limited and inadequate compared to what two or more can do.

I'd love it if we further network, maybe something better may come forth.

Thanks again Chloe.

Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable. So change this world with your idea.
Wishing you all the success and hope you will be there in the finals.

Hi Seth,

I want to once again reiterate my appreciation of your creating a platform for young people to learn and create and contribute positively to the community. It is a daunting task for youth to navigate the complexities of today's society in order to achieve their dreams. Without proper guidance and experience, the process is delayed and the effort often lost. An early start with proper guidance, practice and support can let the youth experience success within the context of society. That will translate into more confidence and higher rate of success for the individual's future.

Keep up the effort and I wish you lots of success!

Chloe

Dear Seth,

I have viewed your idea and I have decided to vote for it. I think it is very important for youth to learn about business, not just in Africa, but every youth in the world should know about business. As the world is going into Information Age and Automation Age, A.I will soon take over some of our jobs. Hence, I believe it is important for youth to learn about business to create opportunity for themselves to strive in this world. If you are free and willing, can you please view and give some constructive comments for my idea? the idea link is:

Nice meeting you and your idea is seriously awesome! I believe, together as youth, we can make breakthroughs and lead the world forward. A brighter future, here we come!! Thanks.:)

Also sir Daniel,

You know I've always had those as the major initiative, I mean the (short and long term plans) I didn't separate them initially until recently when it dawn on me that things needs to be done in bits to achieve a whole!

My idea is basically to give students (both academic and business) knowledge via the establishments. I think the both projects are critical to achieve this but from what you've said I have been able to see that there's a lot this project can achieve truly.

My hope is for me to get the needed support and I believe this project will achieve it's intention of eradicating poverty in Africa.

I really appreciate your time and the words you've put through and I must say that you've done well.

I wish we could network beyond this platform.

Thanks again great leader!

Hi Thomas,

Interesting to read your idea and what you envision to achieve. I have a question regarding your implementation plan, don't you think the short and long-term plans are totally different big projects? What about focusing one area you think is quite critical? I can see both requiring huge infrastructure and human resource investment. What do you think?

Great and idea and wishing you the best!

Hello Seth
Its my third time now reading your idea careful, i have concluded that you have very strong idea African Country have been lacking for years now. Now you have such a big life changing idea, I suggest you have full support from education organizations and community development organisations all over the world. Please let me know about the above mentioned concern,This World was waiting people of your kind.

Your idea is novel as you focus on eradicating poverty. As we all agree that poverty manifests itself by lack of access to economic, technological, cultural and resources. This in turn results to unemployment, environmental degradation, political and economic instability, conflict and inequality, inadequate capacity and limited opportunities to participate in all developmental processes.
Today we are witnessing that poverty among people young or adults is a threat to national and global stability, in fact it is an affront to personal dignity, it a deprivation of their basic human rights.
I say well done

All the best

My Reeponse: Dear Otiago,

I lack words to express my delight and gratitude for your kind words and articulate expression of facts, they really encouraged me to be more focused in making this work out.

I believe that education is the bedrock of any economic development, empowerment and whatever kind of change needed. I also believe that this idea will turn out to become a project worth reckoning with.

Once more, I say a very big thank you for considering "small" idea as "Novel!"

Wish you the very best in all your endeavours!

As your idea looks forward to the eradication of poverty. Hunger and create massive employment opportunities for the Youths; what the challenges you believe will be faced when implementing it?

Thank you, as I look forward to seeing your response.

My Response:
Thank you very much for such a very important question.

So far, I'd say the major challenge I think I'll be facing is in integrating this concept to curriculum already established/running schools and in trying to convience parents too. I often wonder how easy it will be to do so...

I actually know that the first step to go about this challenge is in reaching out to the ministry of Education but that's a challenge to you know... How do I go about it?

Well, so far those are the problems I think could stand but I sure know there's always a way out!

Hi Seth, your educational project look really good. In our project we are using more non-formal education and some of our project partners came up with really clever ideas. For example our Scot partner make seventeen SDG cards with quick activities for young people that can be used for understanding or just for starting the discussion about the SDG themes and topics. The whole material can be downloaded here http://www.scotdec.org.uk/resources/sustainable-development-goals-activities-for-scouts-and-guides/scouts.

I would really appreciate if you could go through my idea as well(follow this link https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/12/5961/comments). Our idea deals with covering an otherwise unused rooftop of a building with green plants, and using that space for a multitude of activities. This would have various positive effects on the environment and also the society in general.

Thank you

Thank you sir for your encouragement, indeed just a little from everyone can become much. Your project is of utmost importance because a lot of youths are still fixated on the idea of a job, a good house, family and then live happily ever after and ignore the necessity of a business endeavor.

And sorry, I forgot to add "the world at large" you know we'll go global right? In fact we're global already you know? Leveraging on this platform.

I really admire your efforts to impact affect the energy sector of our country. Nigeria is blessed to have people like you, please keep up the spirit!
Nigeria shall be great I believe!

I believe we can and will impact our Country and continent real soon.

August 19, 2017 10:43

Also, we will do annual publications of all activities as we proceed to give our partners feedback and help them stay up to date with all we do so as to maintain their trust on what we do and help them continue to support us.

Thank you very much for your comment and question.
Please do inform us if you need further clarifications.
Thanks once more

August 19, 2017 10:41

Also, about the income, well we don't intend to get "profit" per se for the project remember it's a non-for-profit organization. We know for such that there will be "income" which we would rather refer to as "revenue" which will come from sponsorships, contributions and donations. We will get our partners accurate details of the use of their funds.

August 19, 2017 10:35

Of course the idea would be sustainable as we hope to get more sponsorships and partnerships as more people gets to be aware of the quality this enterprise delivers.

However, we intend to introduce a tuition/membership fee for participants subsequently for mentorship and other miscellaneous by that'll be in the long run.

August 19, 2017 10:32

Hi Godfrey,

Thank you very much for your comment.
The idea is meant to become a project established as a social enterprise and success will be measured by the number of youths being transformed and empowered via the enterprise.

August 19, 2017 09:30

Hello Seth!

Keep moving, we are almost there in shaping our continent and the World at large. I admire your entrepreneurial spirit and drive. I wish you success!

Cheers!

August 18, 2017 16:37

Greetings

I agree with you, most of youths are suffering with unemployment problem due to various reasons. That project will help them to get self reliance. But what about income? Do you expect to get income? Have you discussed about project sustainability? Or do you expect to get funds only?

Best of luck

August 17, 2017 23:00

Wow Shubham, wonderful thoughts you've gathered and I want to say that your idea is very great! It's really a welcome development to know your plan towards reaching the poor community through scholarships.

Congratulations once again fellow.

August 17, 2017 13:43

Hi Seth Thomas, you have recently asked a question about my idea and here is muy response for that.
Tuititon fees is decided after I implement the idea in real world and as far as reaching out to poor communities are concerned, I have already mentioned it in my idea that we will setup new era classrooms center at different place ranging from cities, states and then to different countries and contitnents and our new era classrooms have a scholarship aid policy to meet the demand of poor communities children, so that financial constraints doesn't become a hindrance in getting quality education. Thanks for asking the question

August 11, 2017 16:29

Also, in this spirit, you may kindly support my idea, AfricEnergy, an idea focused on Green Energy; Biogas, Organic Fertilizer and Electricity...Thank you. You may see it at: https://www.entrepreneurship-campus.org

August 11, 2017 15:31

Well done Mr Seth. Your idea is very valid and appropriate for the nation. I equally believe building human capital is one of the greatest investments any country can consider to make for her people. Without competent people, a nation will only keep being dependent on other nations to survive and develop.

However, for your idea, have you considered partnering with public stakeholders and policy makers such as the Ministries of Education in various states in Nigeria. You may also look at joining efforts with stakeholders in Private schools as well, You will be meeting the right people from there.

Also, in this same spirit, you may kindly support my idea, AfricEnergy, towards organic fertilizer, green energy and electricity. Thank you.. see it at; entrepreneurship-campus.org/ideas/12/6509/

August 10, 2017 23:39

Hi guys,
Please I'm really in need of your input here.

Please what is the best model to use for a non-profit organization that is intended to be run like a school?
I've been finding it difficult to really come to terms with this as I well know most schools are established as for-profit organizations.

I'd really appreciate your kind and honest replies.
Thanks.

August 3, 2017 12:06

Just yesterday, I attended a program or should I call it a seminar and I listened carefully as a top executive from a renowned company in Nigeria made a very heartfelt comment about the efforts governments and other organizations have been putting building human capacity in the country.

Having appreciated all these efforts, she said sadly that the the major beneficiaries of these programs are usually the aged, especially women and the younger ones are either not interested or no where to be found.

I immediately felt a sharp pain in my heart and they made me more encouraged to see the need TEENAGERS EMPOWERMENT and MENTORING PROGRAM OF NIGERIA to become a reality as soon as possible because it's obvious that this gap has been identified by others too and something has to be done ASAP!

I wish myself and everyone else on this competition the very best with their ideas and projects...

July 28, 2017 13:46

Wow! Mr. Ahmed, you just exposed me to a very great and innovative way of establishing and running this institution. Did you know it never crossed my mind to install an online platform and questionnaires for feedbacks and testimonials by students who have gained from our school for new students? Thank you very much for this, I'll incorporate it right away in the overall planning phase.

Also, for the bank account for donations, we have not opened any one as this idea is yet to be established, it's still in the conceptual stage. But we would open one for donations as soon as possible, we intend to do that as we establish the project.

There are forgoing plans as regards that as we have other bank accounts (personal) through which people can make donations for now but we are yet to open any for this idea's sake.

Thank you very much for this awesome feedback, it has really been helpful.
I wish you the very best with yours too.
Hope it scales through to fruition

Kind regards,
Seth

July 28, 2017 05:05

greetings MR : Seth Thomas Anohwonom ,

this is great noble project helping in teaching the students, as The human resource is the main element in the production wheel , and that is very good for society.
but can I ask if there are an account for the school so as the people could donate ?
& how about the feedback ways , by internet or questionnaires ? so as every student or graduated person could share his experience with the new fresh enrolled students in that platform.

best wishes :)

July 27, 2017 19:06

Thank you Mr Ayobami for your support, I believe this will cause a revolution in our education system. My hope is that it excels beyond the limelight and produce its intended quality and that our government will see the potentials and fully support it.

Thanks again!

July 27, 2017 18:05

Nice one Seth ! One of the challenges facing educational sector is what you about to tackle. If the challenges can be tackle from the secondary schools it will really has positive effects on the post secondary education. Weldone...I am in total support and wishing the very best.

July 25, 2017 17:41

July 13, 2017 23:18

Hi Ayuba,
Thank you for you challenging comment, you know i've not really taken out time to think deep on what I'll do perhaps i make the top ten.

But from the look of things, there's really not so much to do than to work on my video, upload it and expect the best..-:)

Also in response to your question, the idea is meant to build teenagers... we are well aware they exhibit disturbing behaviours but what we want to do is guide/coach them to be more organized, empowered to become great poeple, solving challenges of the world...We'll try to alsso help them focus on their areas of specialty (gifts/talents/interests) rather than being diversified...

July 13, 2017 09:35

Dear Seth,

A fantastic idea to empower and mentor teens to reach their dream. This can reduce the gap between practical and academic aspects .

Good luck
Aseel

July 4, 2017 20:27

This idea is incredibly great, it sure will create a world of sound youth we all can rely on to save u from virtually all the challenges of our current day.
Ride on seth, I wish you all the best with your project.

July 4, 2017 14:26

Hi Kupakwashe,
Thank you very much for commenting, I'm grateful you like the idea, it means a lot to me.

Before I attempt to answer your question I'd like to make a few comments on your observations.
First, the idea like you've rightly observed is focused on empowering youth, and teenagers especially. This is due to the overall vision we have to build a sustainable group of productive and solution-oriented youth who will create businesses and other organizations to cater for the prevailing challenges of their immediate community, Africa that is, and the world at large.

Indeed, for a second comment, I'll will say we wish to empower everyone with this idea but the truth is I don't think it's realistic to say an idea (whatever kind) can be created to empower everyone in a community at the same time. I believe there's always the place of segmentation and being specific about the group you intend to reach with your idea. Please do correct me if I'm wrong, I'd appreciate.

However, this idea will eventually reach to everyone over time, through the several employment opportunities the established businesses will create.

In addition to the response to your question, I'd say the impact of this idea on society can be summarized as 'Transforming a fraction of the total dependency ratio of a Nation into a formidable workforce' that is, teenagers being either business owners, investors or employees in established organizations.

This will bring about increased productivity, improved standard of living of people and decreased level of overall dependency of teenagers and youth on parents and government for source of livelihood.

Please do let me know if this has attempted your question in anyway or you need further clarity.
Thanks once more for commenting, hope to hear from you soon.
Seth

July 4, 2017 03:25

Hi Seth,
I love your idea of equipping youth with business knowledge in order for them to challenge poverty. Since your idea heavily focuses on youth and teenagers, how do you propose to cater for the non-youth population and also equip them with the skills they need to combat poverty. In a community, is it not better to empower everyone rather than a select group of people?
Once I again, I love your idea. I just need you to explain it's community impact to me a bit more.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kindest regards,
Kupakwashe

June 29, 2017 11:45

Hi Bornita,

I'm really delighted to read your comment, its really beautiful and inspiring. With the way youth migrate? We may end up having our countries filled with only children and the aged! And you know what that means? CERTIFIED DEPENDENCY! But for a whole nation? Oh that will be a night mare, too terrible not to wake up from. I know this is the cry of every Visionary youth and I hope it gets the stage to manifest.

Now to answer your powerful question, I'll say it's going to be really challenging indeed.
I mean with the way the school is ran, everyone has been made to believe in a myth and even parents hold onto it with all they have. Go to school, get good grades, earn a good job and be happy.

Imagine what it would look like to tell a parent who have been investing on his/her child to always get straight 'As' remain on top of the class always being competitive and never losing sight of their books (especially if they have been employed in a high earning job), to now debunk all of those beliefs and embrace the community we intend to create.

Or a school who who have raise a whole lot of students already excelling in different spheres of life using their old curriculum.

True, It's going to be really challenging but it's not impossible. All we need to do is embark on a Champaign to reorient both parents and possible schools about the dangers of the current system and then inform them on the advantages this new one will create for all.

The point is just on making our intentions know to educational boards, schools, parents and even the students.

I hope I have been able to attempt your question. Please do let me know if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate

Thanks once more for your comment and question.
Seth

June 29, 2017 11:21

Hi Klinsmann,

Thank you a bunch for your support, you made made me energised and more passionate to continue with this work, and for your comment too thanks.

To answer your thoughtful question I'd say that the Business Fund Account is actually just a proposed name for the the account were a percentage say 5% of the students total tuition will be saved until graduation, it could be changed to something more suitable.

Now the main aim of this account is create a kind of "financial reserve" for studentsand parents alike with intention to hand them over to all our graduating students to be used as "capital" for whatevr business/skill/career they intend to pursue (which we must have trained, taught and mentored them on) in life.

However, we understand that there are so many different career choices, some which may not be directly entrepreneurial. The provision o this fund is also meant for them, its for "all" graduating students just a way to empower them financial which they could also use as a means to fund their further studies.

Please don't hesitate to say if this answers your question. Also I'd love to know what you think on this because as you are well aware, we're still in the conceptual stage

Thanks again!
Seth.

June 29, 2017 11:10

Hello Seth,

Your idea resonates with the voice of general young population in the world. In my country, large number of youth go abroad in search of better opportunities and never come back. It is one of the barrier to achieve SDGs. Integrating TEAM idea in schools could bring out a large generation of empowered young people. With their knowledge and skill, they can create opportunities in their own countries which will also help in reducing the brain drain problem and help in achieving the SDGs.

I want to ask, how challenging is it for schools to integrate this idea in their curriculum?
Hope to hear from you soon.

Best,
Bonita

June 29, 2017 11:06

Hi Uledi,

Thanks for your well thought of comment. I really appreciate!
To answer your question, I'll say first this idea as at the "thought stage" is intended to be ran as an institution adopting the business model of a Non for profit organization.

For now, we'll rely on sponsorships and collaborations to be up and running.

We however intend to adopt the operational strategy of real schools subsequently. You know, we thought of how schools mak their profit from the services they render. We'll adopt their strategy to keep the model running.

Do let me know if this answers your question and don't hesitate to state if you'd need further clarifications.

Thanks again!
Seth

June 28, 2017 05:55

Mr Seth, we fully support the implementation of your idea as it would definitely put the future of developing countries in good hands.

However, we would like to inquire if the money in the Business Funds account would be accessible to all graduating students regardless of their future career choices?

We wish you all the best!

June 27, 2017 21:24

Hi
This idea is Good to transform this generation into Problem solver of their own challenge. I like the way you come with reasoning what real the school is intended to bring. Can you tell me how will you generate profit and keep on finding this Nobel idea.
Best wishes

June 26, 2017 11:47

Thank you Bertha for commenting, it means a lot to me. This idea was birthed out of "an anger" if may say. The cycle of promoting "certified dependency" has been on going for a long time now and no one's saying/doing anything about it.

I really hope that this idea moves from this stage to the project it's meant to be, transformation our lives together.

Thanks once more, Miss.

June 26, 2017 10:00

This is just what we need. Especially in developing countries. I wish you all the very best Seth If this idea pushes through, it is not just you that will win, it will mean all of us, young people!.
A great and life changing idea you have. Am inspired.

June 23, 2017 15:34

Thank you Kemal for your warm comment!

It will be my utmost pleasure and profound desire to see its manifestation. I hope it grows to become that project that will build youth and transform society indeed.

I got FAITH!

Thanks again,
Seth

June 23, 2017 04:54

Dear Seth,
Indeed your idea is interesting and important to the empowerment of youth and development of the society.
Please keep working on it\'s implementation. Never give up.

Cheers! !!

June 23, 2017 00:39

You should know also that this is for developing countries actually. Unemployment and poverty are worrisome challenges in countries as such. I'd really love to further hear from you. Thanks @Stefan

June 23, 2017 00:14

Thank you very much for commenting Mr. Stefan I really appreciate your time.

Now to start with, I'll say you're right when you said "not every one is built for entrepreneurship" but I'll say you're also wrong to have said "they don't have what it takes", The fact that somebody doesn't want to eat doesn't mean he doesn't get hungry! You know, the the idea is not meant to start a whole new process of teaching "entrepreneurship" it's about discovering talents and gift and nurturing them into productive enterprises.

You're right too when you said it's already in practice but I'd appreciate it more if you're a bit more specific about the location and possible school that does it.

We aren't actually into a kind of competition, we are willing to help, partner, support and contribute to any organization or school currently into this. It's a vision for the world... Remember, this is not going to be established as a Profit making organization.

Thanks once again sir, I'm really grateful for your comment.

Please feel free to ask more questions and suggestions, its all meant to refine the idea!

Regards!

June 22, 2017 18:52

I like the spirit of the idea, but I see a few problems. First, I don't think that everyone is built for entrepreneurship, not everyone has what it takes. Second, those ideas of yours are already implemented in some schooling systems, maybe not completely, but are definitely going in that direction. Third, there are still math competitions, but business idea competitions and solving business competitions are also happening. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater, I'm just suggesting a little more innovation to be added in this concept. Best of luck!

June 21, 2017 22:15

Thank you for commenting Shura.

First, I want you to know that this idea is intended to be established as a Non-for-Profit Organization (NPO) but to be managed as a school/institution, so I wouldn't want to refer to the proceeds and revenues as "profit".

However, to answer your question I'll say that the students will pay the training, coaching and other fees with the tuition per term or session depending on what we decide. The organization will basically be funded from collaborations and sponsorships from partners as mentioned in the idea.

And about affordability, well I believe the value we're offering will be worth paying for and affordable too. We won't be "charging" too much, just an amount good enough for the value we are offering.

hope I was able to answer satisfactory.
Thank you very much for your question, it was of great help.

June 21, 2017 15:49

Hello,

Indeed your idea is great and all the best for your idea and congratulations for your efforts which you have put into it. Just a question I want to ask you that will it be economical for the pupils. And profit you will be getting from it.

Best wishes

June 21, 2017 08:37

Accurate words you've got down there, @"The next generation must not add up to the existing problems, but must solve them". That's in fact the central focus of this concept.

Let's hope it makes its way up to reality very soon.

Thank you Coach Aaron.

June 21, 2017 04:12

Great project. The African continent has similar problems and our educational setup are major contributing factors, hence such projects are needed to positively shape the minds of students to be creative thinkers and solution oriented. The next generation must not add up to the existing problems, but must solve them. Best of luck Seth!

June 17, 2017 20:53

Thanks Team GreenSpace, I'm grateful for your comment! It's really a pain in my heart I hope this idea comes up and out of my heart and head to reality! It will create that change we all look out for in students!

Best luck in your idea too!

June 17, 2017 19:52

Hey!

Really liked the passion and enthusiasm in your idea. I really liked the part where you wanted yo change the current mindset of students where they just want to cram and pass their exams. Best would be that they get to know the practicality of what they learn and use it effectively.

Keep up the spirit and all the best

Regards,
Team GreenSpace

June 16, 2017 23:43

Thank you Mr Bano for your comment, I'm glad you like the idea. Mr utmost pleasure will be in seeing it come to reality. Let's expect the best from our efforts, we'll all benefit at last. Thanks

June 16, 2017 23:40

Thank your Mr. Solomon for commenting, you have spoken well. National development is our focus and it's in the potentials ofteens that we are assured of sustainable development.

June 16, 2017 19:34

Your idea is very impressive and surely will make its own space in the world by generating more promising teens and entrepreneurs.
Best regards for your project.

June 15, 2017 03:08

This idea is amazingly excellent and smarshingly promising, eradicating poverty via the empowerment and enlightment of teens will constitute a messianic panacea to a plethora of challenges and backward mobile vices conducted by youths. Children upgrade to become teens, teens transmogrify into the formation of tomorrow's leadership structure. So this idea confronts national youth development from a fundamental and primordial scope and thus constituting a webed-society of liberated young minds. I am sitting at the edge of my sofa to see this idea do more good to OUR blessed Nation.

Thank you Mr. Anieheobi for commenting. Your words are really encouraging and reassuring, there's indeed hope for all.

I'm happy you like the idea and more importantly grateful you voted it as the best. I hope as you that it scales through indeed!

Thank you for commenting Mr. Charles. It's true we have left the process that gave us a sense of existence and source of living and have embraced a myth for years now. We shouldn't keep walking in the dark when light is in our possession. We have to pull the switch and let it shine!

I also hope this idea creates that "light" in the minds of the earth's inhabitants so we fight the course together for POSTERITY!

Thanks once again.

Since accepting the Industrial Revolution Age idea of \"Go to school, get good grades and get a job\" we became more more vulnerable and relatively poorer than we were during the era of widespread reliance subsistent agriculture, this idea of early Financial & Business Knowledge when ingrained will once again give us the power to take charge of our lives and reduce the high rate of unemployment, and what better way to go about it than involving the teen - the leaders of tomorrow?

This is a great idea, nothing utopian about it.

I hope Thomas Seth\'s idea come out tops but more importantly, I will love to see its full implementation while I still walk the earth.

This idea is amazingly excellent and smarshingly promising, eradicating poverty via the empowerment and enlightment of teens will constutute a messianic panacea to a plethora of challenges and backward mobile vices conducted by youths.

Financial and Business Education would certainly go a long way in eradicating poverty especially when it is focused on the root of the future. Building on the teens today assures us of great youths and leaders tomorrow.
