BIOELECTRICITY PLANT Giving a physical enclosure to a research that promises a bright future for the rural development and feeds the growing fuel demand of urban areas. The proposal is instead of generating biofuel from a commercial product which is already creating crises in the national market we should search for alternative ideas and cultivation of algae could be one of the solutions to the problem. "The algae technology will be integrated with sugar mill of the villages where CO2 emission is very high. Sugar mill emits 241 Kg CO2 per ton of sugar processed. This gas will be trapped and channelized into a photo bioreactor in which algae will be farmed. CO2 and dissolved nutrients which will speed up algal biomass generation. 100% of the CO2 emitted can be utilized for algal farming without releasing carbon dioxide into the air.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
100% of the CO2 emitted can be used for algal farming. It will be a prototype project that can be replicated throughout the industrial zone targeting different industries such as thermal power plants which produces 15000 tons of carbon dioxide in one day and so the project will help to balance the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere and along with that it will help to produce biofuel and electricity from the leftover biomass and can sustain on the waste products generated from the industrial activities. The design should help the rural India to develop in multiple directions by achieving a cleaner, greener and safer environment in a sustainable manner through proper management of our environmental assets and industrial waste, by incorporating advance research in the designing.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The project is at the concept level but algal fuel is already a proven concept in the world but due to large investment at initial stage it is difficult to implement it at large scale. Although we are applying in many competitions to get a startup fund to implement it. The project sustainability depends on the scale at which the project will be launch because producing a bio fuel from algae at small scale can lead to failure of the project. The capital cost invested in the project is much more than the profit generated by selling the bio fuel but if it is launched at a large scale it can be economical for the society and it will offer a solution to the CO2 control from the industries
