VOICE OF THE FOOD REVOLUTION

According to Tanzania National Nutrition Survey 2014, Final Report Data collection: 24 September – 21 November 2014, Prepared by Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre ,The findings state that, At national level, stunting or chronic malnutrition was identified in 34.7% (33.7-35.7 95% CI) of children 0-59 months of age which is a high rate according to WHO classification. Severe stunting was found in 11.5 % of children countrywide. For Tanzania Mainland, the survey results show a level of chronic malnutrition considered “very high”, exceeding the 40% threshold in 9 regions (Iringa, Njombe, Kagera, Dodoma, Ruvuma, Rukwa, Kigoma, Katavi and Geita) among which 3 regions are above 50%: Iringa (51.3%), Njombe (51.5%) and Kagera (51.9%). Therefore due to this chronic nutrition problem there is a need for voice of the food revolution specifically in Tunduru Ruvuma Region, The main objectives of the the idea are;Ensuring children have access to good, nutritious food is vital to helping them grow up to be healthy and happy. Without proper nutrition, children are at risk of becoming either overweight or obese, or suffering from undernutrition, which impacts their health, growth and development and puts them at increased risk of disease. Understanding food and nutrition and the dual role they play as part of a healthy lifestyle is, to shout about important food issues, encourage everyone to take part in impactful change, and push governments to improve their food and nutrition policies.To provide Good food education and farming techniques of nutritious products , more understanding and balanced relationship with food, in turn empowering them to make responsible, healthy, sustainable food choices.Visiting local families in villages, Children's schools, and preparing food education events to provide food revolution education, establishing center for teaching cooking food skills and designing phone app with detailed info on food revolution are the activities .
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This idea through its implementation will be more impactiful as will help community members to;Understanding food and nutrition and the dual role they play as part of a healthy lifestyle is essential,to come together, make a noise, share our stories and discuss the solutions that could provide our children with access to good, fresh, nutritious food for generations to come, understanding to value food and manage waste better, as well as the promotion of better production practices from farm to fork, we believe that food waste can largely be avoided, Reducing if not eradicating the problem of children stunting and malnutrition in the communities,Knowing how to cook from scratch empowers people to appreciate the value of food, to understand what they are putting in their bodies and, therefore, to nourish themselves and their families with fresh, nutritious food.Through this impactiful measures will help in evaluating the success of this idea as decreasing the number child stunting and malnutrition problems, Fewer medications,Lower food costs,Lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar,Reversal or prevention of heart disease and diabetes,Longer life,Healthier weight and increasing cooking skills among families.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
This project idea expects to use $ 20,000 in implementing this idea, where, $ 5,000 will be used for providing education schools and village families, $ 10,000 for buying sample of nutritious food products and renting centre for cooking training , $5,000 buying kitchen equipment and centre renovation. Where some of my farm products will be used as an asset to initiate the projects. As the project will be making financial and social impacts will help to make sustainability a long run of the project. The projects will welcome collaborators wishing to work and support the project.

Iam running farming project based on nutrients food products such as Soybeans which is very potential to human health.I have achieved to educate and influence people to eat balanced and nutritious foods including soybeans.
