Explain your idea in details:

In a world filled with terrorism and chaos, children remain the only hope for a brighter future. But as they are born into the chaos and begin to grow in it, they see this as the only way of living. I believe if a physical place is created for children from broken homes and backgrounds to take refuge and learn what it is to be loved and to love, the better future that we all hope for can soon become a reality. The main objective is to raise a generation that will be able to look at the world in a different, more sustainable way. This will be achieved by providing them with a place where they can grow in such a manner;where they will look at their cultural, racial, gender differences and differences in religious beliefs and economic status not as things to fear and judge but things to use.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

I believe when this idea is finally implemented and becomes operational a lot of positive changes towards sustainable development will happen in the long run. Such changes will include: better living standards for youth, increase in number of future potential leaders, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs and so on who will be equipped with enough knowledge to continue embracing sustainable development, decrease in number of youth going into drugs or any illegal activities and a better chance for them to find job opportunities.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

I would like to start up a business with a partner concerning sustainable energy systems. When the business starts making profits, I will take my share and add it to the revenue and capital to start up this "Safe Haven project" together with loans from other interested companies, the bank and my personal savings. I would also like to own a farm where I can produce my own food both for business and personal related activities. So hopefully this is where more revenue will be coming from. There will be other activities (which I am still thinking of) taking place at the safe haven to contribute to generating revenue. This is going to be a big and tricky project so it will need a team of people with different professions and a similar goal to help in order for it to be a success.

Your profile

My name is Katia Nalivata, aged 17. I hold an IGSCE certificate and I'm about to further my studies at the Malawi University of Science and Technology, where I'll master in sustainable energy systems. I want o pursue a career in environmental engineering because I've always been extremely passionate about the environment and I'm determined to help implement sustainable solutions to protect it. My parents have always been my biggest inspiration and also all the innocent children out there, motivate me to work hard and to never give up on my dreams. Growing up I was shown immense love from my parents, I was given all the basic necessities such as food, shelter, education and so on required for a human to grow and reach their full potential. I've been taught great lessons both at school and home about socializing with different people and being innovative, as a kid I thought this was the kind of life everyone had. As I grew older and became aware of the huge differences in the lives of children in my community and the world at large, it completely broke my heart. To think of how innocent children are abandoned, born into a place of war and hate or whose families can't afford to meet their needs let alone their own, truly leaves me shattered. But I don't want to end with just sympathy, I actually want to give them hope in anyway possible.

Hello fellow passenger,

You might have heard the famous song "What I've done" by Linkin park. The lyrics have been beautifully carved by the late singer Chester Bennington. The song covers the ways in which our so called development has helped only a handful of the upper society members, whereas people are still living in poverty.

We have a great platform here which is urging super brains from around the world to come together and collaborate with their ideas and help make this world a better place to live in. You have been a part of this community and I congratulate you on your effort that you have put in.

Thanks once again and all the best for the future
Regards,
Team GreenSpace

Comrades,
In this fight for a sustainable future, what we need is innovation; something which is not necessarily new, but which makes us look at things from a different angle.

I believe this is one of the major motives of this community which we are a part of. Taking one step together hand in hand towards our goal is the only way we can achieve it.

So I wish you the very best in this endeavour of yours and hope to see you together in the new tomorrow

Regards,
Team GreenSpace

Dear fellow entrepreneur:
