Tomato paste production
Explain your idea in details:
Nigeria provides 5% of the total world tomatoes production. Still, the country does not get about 45% of the tomatoes due to poor food supply chain. Every year, Nigeria loses about 750000 tons of tomatoes due to the bad supply chain, this led to the lack of tomatoes in the country. With this trend still prevalent, Swabokun Enterprises is gearing towards revolutionizing commercial tomato production in Nigeria. OBJECTIVES My main objectives are : 1) Reduce to bearest minimum tomatoes wastage 2) Reduce the shortage/unavailability of tomatoes in the market. 3) Reduce loss accrued by farmers towards production 4) Job creation. 5) Food security. ACTIVITIES Activities lined up in prosecuting this idea include: 1) Having hectares of tomato plantation. 2) Gathering of local tomato farmers around, get them educated about modern way to cultivate to give high yield, supply adequate and necessary farm inputs such as hybrid seeds, fertilizers, pesticides etc. for maximum output and yield. 3) Provision of necessary logistics to bring their produce for processing from their various farms after harvest. INNOVATIVE APPROACHES In Nigeria, tomato is mainly and largely cultivated through rainfed. This only give room for availability of tomatoes during raining season, measures would be taken to incorporate irrigation farming during dry season. This will help production all year round.

My name is Okunogbe, Sunday Olawale, a Nigerian by descent, born to the family of Elder D.A. Okunogbe. I had my primary and secondary education at the western part of the country. I proceeded to Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan where I obtained my diploma (ND) in Agricultural Technology after which I got admitted into University of Nigeria, Nsukka where I bagged my Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric.) in Horticulture. Preceeding my years in school, I have little or no idea about the word "entrepreneur(ship) " but my story changed during my undergraduate days in varsity as we are made to pass through an entrepreneurship course compulsorily, titled, Entrepreneurship Development and Research (CEDR). Thanks alot to the lecturer in charge who open my eye to what to face after school who thoroughly explained the importance and benefits of entrepreneurship in the growth of a country as regards creation of wealth and reduction in unemployment rate. I have to be employer of labour and not necessarily waiting to be employed or to be an employee. I had led various groups and sub groups throughout my post-primary and secondary school days where several achievable feets were made during the course of leading these groups. My watch word all through these periods of leading that led to great success were Diligence +Dedication +Determination = Distinction. With sincerity in my heart and if luck ran on me to win this award, all the aforementioned 3D's will guide my path to be successful in the business world. I am a 2016 cohort of Tony Elumelu Foundation, an entrepreneurship program set up to equip Africa's young entrepreneurs and get funding for their business ideas.
