Explain your project in details:

the GBV HELP MAP. This is a crowdmap comprising over 15000 organizations world over, offering medical, legal, education / employment, resources (food, shelter, clothing, emergency support), police and ambulance services for women who have faced violence. Often, women who have faced violence either dont know where to go for help, or dont have resources to find out where to go for help. Sometimes, their situation prevents them from finding help, and that can be extremely dangerous to their safety. Our research found that many women couldn't search for resources online due to search engine trails that they couldn't always successfully erase. Furthermore, many women were unsure of the credibility of the organizations themselves. Recognizing the gap in access, The Red Elephant Foundation decided to use technology to intervene and assist access. We have created a Global Help Map that offers details of verified organizations in 197 countries of the world. This map aims to serve three purposes: 1. Provide a one-click platform that can be accessed from anywhere to identify the nearest provider of services for a survivor. Instead of Googling services and leaving a trail where one remains in a vulnerable situation, this one-link-access is easy to delete from browser histories. 2. Provide a glimpse to aid workers and donors to identify areas that dont have resources altogether or resources of a particular kind, so that they may device appropriate intervention strategies. 3. Provide a comfortable space for inter-organizational collaboration and referral, where organizations can help survivors in other countries access help, or, can refer survivors who come to them, to others to respond to particular needs. This map will soon be made available as a Mobile App as well.

Bye fellow entrepreneur:
As I say good buy, I must say it has been an astounding time reading so many great entries.
I went through the details of your idea and was indeed very impressed. Would you be kind enough to please explain to me as how you got this idea? Equally importantly, who were (are) the people who inspired you for you to come up with this idea.
Take care and all the very best!

Hello fellow passenger,

You might have heard the famous song "What I've done" by Linkin park. The lyrics have been beautifully carved by the late singer Chester Bennington. The song covers the ways in which our so called development has helped only a handful of the upper society members, whereas people are still living in poverty.

We have a great platform here which is urging super brains from around the world to come together and collaborate with their ideas and help make this world a better place to live in. You have been a part of this community and I congratulate you on your effort that you have put in.

Thanks once again and all the best for the future
Regards,
Team GreenSpace

Hello my fellow traveler, How are you feeling as our road ends temporarily?
I have just seen your entry and have been thoroughly impressed by it. Will you be willing to collaborate incase you want to set it up on ground?
I would like to be in touch with you,
Cheers from Kabul.

Comrades,
In this fight for a sustainable future, what we need is innovation; something which is not necessarily new, but which makes us look at things from a different angle.

I believe this is one of the major motives of this community which we are a part of. Taking one step together hand in hand towards our goal is the only way we can achieve it.

So I wish you the very best in this endeavour of yours and hope to see you together in the new tomorrow

Hello campus members,

Being a part of India's well-known Entrepreneurship Cell of the most prestigious engineering college in India, I have interacted with many startup enthusiasts, have got to know how they think and what are some qualities that set them apart from the ones who are not able to see their idea through. Reading through your idea, I have realized that your idea has that spark which can help it become a successful venture. Coupled with its aim to help the society achieve its goals sustainably, your idea can be something quite helpful for the same.

But before it's implementation, you need to do a "premortem" check on how it can fail. This would prepare you for any uncalled-for circumstances and help you prepare for them accordingly.

Lastly, I would like you to have a look at our idea, GreenSpace, and share your views about the same.

Regards,
For Team GreenSpace.

Wishing you all the success and hope you will be there in the finals.

Thank you for your question Ahmed! The organizations are all verified and placed on the map. However, we are avoiding using any rating system as we do not want to create competition in a place where there should be collaboration :)

May 23, 2017 16:43

greetings Red Elephant Foundation,

this is great noble project , and that is very good for society , if I could ask , how could we make sure of the helping organization in our area , if I have more than one helping organization i want to compare which is better , are there specific rating to determine which is benefit for the variety cases ? , what is the rating scale depending on ? & if a new organization want to be added ,what is the prove that they are trusted or papers required ?
thank you very much & sorry for many questions

best wishes :)

"Our research found that many women couldn't search for resources online due to search engine trails that they couldn't always successfully erase. Furthermore, many women were unsure of the credibility of the organizations themselves" Am so delighted that this vulnerability is being addressed. I look forward to the network flourishing and bringing many people from near and far together on a comfortable and comforting platform.

May 8, 2017 08:56

Thank you for your questions Yoke. Our responses are:

1) We are reaching out to organizations and public through social media and through partnerships with several organizations around the world. For example, we partner with Safecity, which welcomes women to submit stories relating to incidents of abuse to identify regions in cities that are unsafe - in our partnership, we ensure that women who report incidents are made aware of the map and can find help on it. Similarly, we also partner with How Revealing, which shares stories of abuse and harassment, where survivors are directed to the map to find help.

2) We are working on a service delivery model to this end. We especially want to reach these women. One way is to digitally empower those who are willing and able to access technology. The other is to build partnerships with organizations that work with these communities, to ensure that these women are able to get help through these organizations, who can use the tech tool and help the women find help.

May 8, 2017 08:41

Hi Red Elephant Foundation,

Interesting project! I would like to ask:

- How are you reaching out to organisations/public in order to create awareness about map?
- How about people who may not have easy access to the internet? Are you hoping to reach them too? If so, how?

Cheers
Yoke
