The main objectives are produce clean energy and development a chemical process to extract both material from rice husk, Silicium Dioxide (SD) and also Celulose (CE) leaving no trash in the enviormental. The main activitis is to develop the Synthesis process using Scientific Methodology. With the SD and CE we are creating a renewable family of products ( celulose nanocrystal, zeolite, oxides, mesopouros, silicon, silicate solutions). The innovative approaches is obtain a products with nanotechnology proprietys increasing the quality of final products ( tires that can reduce the CO2 generation, for examples).
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
On small plant that consume 120,000 ton of rice husk can generate green energy for almost 160,000 people, and produce almost 20,000 ton of SD and CE. The impacto f celulose nanocrystal is to high, because it is a new material for industry and it can change traditional formulations of products like tires, as well will change consuption of fuel gas, because will reduce the rolling resistance of the tire. Also the partnership with Universities have a very importante paper, increasing the participation of students in a process of cooperation with one big company and one Startup of technology, promoving a oppen innovation.
Sustainability and future plans
After the laboratory research the plan of the future is built a pilot plan of celullose nanocrystal and do tests with real tires. Our bussiness molde is B2B, we would like sell for tire companies. Our financing source is a Governement of Brazil that organize a lot of programs for small companys to get innovation. We built a CANVAS with our bussines model, after the pilot plant we can think about a industrial plant in Brazil, and after start operations in Asia, the place with biggest Rice producer.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
I am a chemist, 32 years old, Brazilian, I have an analytical profile with strong entrepreneurial character, I was the winner of the Santander Entrepreneurship Award in 2011, when I was finishing my university graduation. I have high initiative and so I deposited my first patent of chemistry at the beginning of the masters in materials science. I like to have ability to make decisions based on experience, I love reading and studying. I have already visited more than 20 countries. When facing conflict situations for development, I seek a strategy of working with multifunctional teams, making them cooperative, qualified and motivated.
