Explain your project in details:

The project promote rural and urban entrepreneurship through creativity, production and innovative packaging. The ultimate objectives of this project are: 1. To create entrepreneurs to be self employed in Nigeria and Africa 2. To Promote Talent-based Entrepreneurship for decent and sustainable business enterprises among graduates and non graduates youth 3. To enhance worker satisfaction and work productivity at the work place among employees 4. To build entrepreneurship centers that will trainee youths. The innovative approaches employed in achieving these objectives include: 1. Organizing a career and course of study guidance programme for all students at the Junior/Senior Secondary School level across the country. Early this year, I have been doing this project in my church, but i want to increase its impact so that it can reach across the 36 States in Nigeria and as well involve teenagers/youths in the process at a centralised venue within the communities with the needed sponsorship and media awareness partnership. 2. Through my consult, I run a monthly programme called “GLOBAL ICONS YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME”, where I coach and train youths to discover their purpose, identify their talents on food processing, catering and confectionary to develop their talents into decent and sustainable entrepreneurial business ventures. 3. I also provide practical training every last Tuesday of every month for youths to be self employed so as to earn revenues for themselves. This help them to plan towards a smooth transition or change of job which aligns with their natural career path, thereby becoming productive at work as well as gaining fulfilment with their work task. Two hectares of land will be purchased for the entrepreneurship centre, ten staffs will be employed and food processing machines such as automatic packaging machine, food mixers, food extruder, food dicer for smooth training and production.

Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development

Through the Global Icons Youth Entrepreneurship Tuesday project,(Word Arena Youths) we have empowered over 1,000 youths to improve on their business management and entrepreneurship skills, i have also coached over 100 teenagers and youths(Junior and Senior secondary school level) on how to key into business management and entrepreneurship skills that will helped them while in school and after school, trained over 10 graduates to develop their talents and gifts into entrepreneurial ventures and guided about 5 dissatisfied workers to discover their natural career paths and professions. In 2016, I was awarded a Certificate of Recognition as best trainee of Catering and Confectionary under Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme(STEP) in Delta State of Nigeria. In 2017 i was also awarded a YALILEARNS Certificate for Emerging Entrepreneurs under food processing. There are several chats, texts, audio and video feedback messages from clients, students, youths who have benefitted from my project and the most recent one including today are below; " Your cake was nice and sweet, am proud of you" and she was the first youth to go and bake her own birthday cake and decorated it after I taught them how to bake cake from start to finish, and those i have tutor online see me as their mentor. It’s a wonderful experience when you realize someone has the full knowledge about who you are. Measures I adopt to evaluate success and impacts include their satisfactory feedback in the form of chats, texts, their works through photos, audio or video messages, periodic fellow-ups on their progress of idea development and business activity, their learning outcomes in the case of students and their photos displaying their practical works. We plan and make a follow up on the selected youths who have gone through GLOBAL ICONS YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP TUESDAY.

Sustainability and future plans

The business model of the project is entirely on business management and entrepreneurship under food processing, catering and confectionary. As a consultant, we operate both a service and a product, packaged in the form of skills acquisition trainings, mentoring, seminars, personal coaching and sale of written books in the areas of specialization. Our main audience are teenagers ranging from 13 years to 19, youths ranging from 20 years to 35, young adults from 36 years to 45 and others include workers nearing retirement. Based on this age ranging, the desire to serve, the limited resources I operate with and the impact stories from people I have engaged actively, we provide very minimal priced to free ranged services to support the financial needs and operations of the projects. The sales from my books are also reimbursed to cater for operational expenses as well as coaching many more people to achieve the objectives outlined in sync with the sustainable development goals on decent work and education within the 36 States of Nigeria and across the Africa continent. I am an Agriculturist, but decided to focus on entrepreneurship, life coach, mentoring and speaker, even before the drafting of the SDG’s, hence my level of commitment in seeing to the success of the project and I will keep innovating and seeking for the needed donations, sponsorship or aid, from local government, state government, community chiefs etc, grants, private investors, personal source and media partnerships to solidify the growth and survival of our operations and impacts for the future.

Hello fellow passenger,

You might have heard the famous song "What I've done" by Linkin park. The lyrics have been beautifully carved by the late singer Chester Bennington. The song covers the ways in which our so called development has helped only a handful of the upper society members, whereas people are still living in poverty.

We have a great platform here which is urging super brains from around the world to come together and collaborate with their ideas and help make this world a better place to live in. You have been a part of this community and I congratulate you on your effort that you have put in.

Thanks once again and all the best for the future

Comrades,
In this fight for a sustainable future, what we need is innovation; something which is not necessarily new, but which makes us look at things from a different angle.

I believe this is one of the major motives of this community which we are a part of. Taking one step together hand in hand towards our goal is the only way we can achieve it.

So I wish you the very best in this endeavour of yours and hope to see you together in the new tomorrow

This project is a very good one to help reduce the rate of unemployement in our society. Today, there are many unemployed graduates in our country. This is partly as a result of our long system of education that is more of grammar and not much practical learning. It is evident that the highest number of unemployed is found in the African Continent. The truth remains that the major causes of the unemployment among these vibrant youths is lack of skill to back up what they learnt from their institutions of learning. When these graduates were still in school, they did not border to learn at least one single skill, maybe that which is related to catering, graphic designing, typing, hair dressing, electrical maintenance and others. If they have learnt any skill at all, the rate of unemployment will reduce among them.

I so much love this project because a skilled person can survive in any environment.” As water is very essential to human life, so is skill training and acquisition needed in the life of every serious minded human being. Skills can do a lot of great work in the life of every living soul. Lack of entrepreneurial skills is one of major causes of corruption.

Favour Emmanuel

August 30, 2017 16:49

Hi Lily

This project is vow because the importance of Entrepreneurial skill development in our society today cannot be over emphasized because gone are the days when jobs were available everywhere both in the private and public sectors of the economy and employers go about looking for potential graduates for employment. The question of choice of job or the type of employer the one would like is now a story after graduation is now thing of the old. White collar jobs are scarcely available. Hence many graduates are desperate to get any job to keep body and soul together. Indeed there is paradigm shift in the labour market.
Therefore, the need to acquire and develop specific entrepreneurial skills cannot be neglected because entrepreneurship is vital to creating employment and indeed a special form of employability for graduates in our society.

Joseph Ekpenzu

August 30, 2017 16:40

This is a very good project and it should be considered and encouraged because Empowerment helps individuals or groups to fully access personal/collective power through knowledge, skills and motivation for proper functioning in their society and contribution to the economy. The importance of acquiring entrepreneurial skills includes
· Self-employment: a skill acquired man is a self-employed man. A self-employed person can never go hungry because the skill he acquired provides food for him/her on a daily basis. But one who lacks skill acquisition will find it difficult to be self-employed because he/she has nothing to offer.
· Helps the society not to depend on white collar jobs.
· Helps youth develop a positive attitude towards work and labour.
· It reduces poverty.
· Helps youth to be self-reliant and independent.

Sunday Seikila

August 30, 2017 16:33

A skillful person speaks with confidence while the none skillful is filled with fear. Entrepreneurial skills builds individual self esteem, engender growth process and changes that is never ending. Therefore, this project should be encouraged because good and lucrative skills acquired can make ways where it seems there is no way.

August 30, 2017 11:06

Also,

Remember it's not over until it's over.
It may be just a few days to the end of the competition but it's not the end of your dreams
There's still a lot you can achieve.
Stay focused.

Dear Fellow participant,

You have done well thus far. Only few people will venture relentlessly into the things in which their instincts proposes because sometimes the goal appears too crazy to achieve, so they just retreat.

Actually, someone has said that "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

You may have seen this before but I want to remind you that it's true, only those who are "crazy enough" eventually get results.

Congratulations for been "crazy enough" (seeing beyond normal and following your dreams despite the odds)...

Best wishes,
Seth

Hello Uledi Kimbavala

Thanks for your comment on my project.

This project came into mind because I was trained by Delta State Government under Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme(STEP) and we were empowered with funds and starter packs.

After the training I was awarded a Certificate of Recognition as the best trainee out 135 trainee under Catering and Confectionary.

This drive gave me idea to empower youths with skills to become Entrepreneurs under Food Processing, Catering and Confectionary. Even if I don't have funds and starter packs to empower youths so I had the passion to empower youths with Skills and that gave rise to "GLOBAL ICONS YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP TUESDAY"

August 29, 2017 19:13

Dear Entrepreneurship campus member;

Thank you for being here all this while. I appreciate all your effort and appreciation, suggestion, question on my project. I learned a lot from you guys. Really I have no word to describe Entrepreneurship campus members.

August 29, 2017 18:14

Hi Daniel

Thanks for your comments on my project, am really grateful.
For more details, search for GLOBAL ICONS YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP TUESDAY on facebook.

We follow global icons youths to know their strengths and weaknesses concerning each practical. Example when I taught global icons youths on how to bake cake from start to finish, one of the youth surprised me by baking her own birthday cake and decorated it with welfer stick biscuits, I was proud of her and also happy because I have impacted someone with a skill that she can use to earn revenue for herself.
Later I corrected her on where she made errors.

August 29, 2017 15:55

Hello everyone,

Now we are reaching the end of the competition. I want to thank everyone who have been voting and commenting on my ideas and interest in helping support GU.

Best of Luck! And keep it up

August 29, 2017 01:27

Hi Lily,

Congratulations for the milestones so far achieved in your project. I guess you forgot to respond to one of the questions i asked below:

"I'm more interested to hear more about "GLOBAL ICONS YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME", what do you really do under this programme? do you plan or make a follow up on the selected youth who have gone through this programme and the project as whole?"

Wishing you great success with your project.

Cheers

August 28, 2017 20:48

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable. So change this world with your idea.
Wishing you all the success and hope you will be there in the finals.

Hello,
Being a part of India's well-known Entrepreneurship Cell of the most prestigious engineering college in India, I have interacted with many startup enthusiasts, have got to know how they think and what are some qualities that set them apart from the ones who are not able to see their idea through. Reading through your idea, I have realised that your idea has that spark which can help it become a successful venture. Coupled with its aim to help the society achieve its goals sustainably, your idea can be something quite helpful for the same.

But before it's implementation, you need to do a "premortem" check on how it can fail. This would prepare you for any uncalled-for circumstances and help you prepare for them accordingly.

Lastly, I would like you to have a look at our idea, GreenSpace, and share your views about the same.

Regards,
Team GreenSpace.

August 28, 2017 19:45

Thanks to each and everyone who has commented on my project.

I was trained to become an Entrepreneur(Catering and Confectionary) under Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) organized by Delta State Government of Nigeria and that gave rise to my idea to also empower youths with practical skills.

The Delta State Government made me what I am today so it is also good for me to also empower youths with practical skills on business and Entrepreneurship

Hello,
I invite you kindly to comment my idea Path To Knowledge. I would be glad to hear your advice. I have written this message after I commented almost all ideas and projects and probably yours too. I am deeply sorry if this message bothered you, but everyone on this platform wants to go to the finals with his/her idea and makes all it is possible to get there. Maybe not all the actions are fair. Some participants copy the same meaningless message and paste it to all ideas. I just do marketing. Again, I am sorry if this message disturbed you.
Kindest regards,
Andrei

Maureen

Thanks for your comment, if there are no errors, there are no corrections, and no matter how long you took your time to write a book, a project there must surely be a criticism and where there are no criticism then your work is not complete.

I believe my project had something to offer to community and youth and that was why it was accepted, also one thing is to have vision concerning a project, another thing is to act base on the project.

With the help of God and not base on my strength, I am acting base on my project. In life I work with three principles which are my starting point, my selling point and my zenith point and I am still at my starting point.

Finally, i appreciate your comment, but i also need your vote.

Thank you
Lily

July 14, 2017 15:20

Nice idea, keep it up because it is an encouraging project so that youth can key into business and entrepreneurship.

Don't be discourage and keep doing what you know how to do best because it will take you to places.

July 14, 2017 14:35

I really love this idea but it doesnot explain well the Value proposition of the business idea. It would be very important if the value propsotition of your idea is much more clear. Also your customer segmentation should be more clear. I think the aspect of your business model should really be clearly explained with all the costs that might be involved, the kind of partners you might want, the revenue streams, the key activities involved. and other aspects.

July 14, 2017 13:55

Thanks for your comment, am grateful. I am working on that but it will involve funding and working tools because for every production to be successful then it will pass through machineries.
