Creating Furniture pieces and light fixtures using RECYCLED materials
Explain your project in details:
Furniture and Furnishing are an essential part of the home and buildings at large. People from all works of life, not withstanding their class in the society require furniture within their spaces. However, we find that there is an imbalance between classic urban furniture and the cost as they are usually expensive. This sometimes makes good furniture and furnishing inaccessible to modest income earners. In the Housing sector also, despite efforts by the Government and every other sector to meet the Housing needs of the teeming modest income earners, this is still unresolved and most of our housing solutions are not sustainable. We have found a way to utilize a profitable process in creating indigenous container houses, furniture using new and recycled materials ranging from, Shipping containers, Old furniture, Tyres, Metals, Plastics, Fabrics, Glass, Wood, E.t.c. This products will be sold in retail and wholesale which would be available and affordable to all levels of income earners. Subsequently, we will embark on the sustainable and affordable Housing solutions. Most importantly, all our products will be SAFE…
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
we are catering to the basic needs of people as well as protecting the environment through recycling we have held our first exhibition where we demonstrated our ability to create functional, sustainable and affordable yet artistic pieces, from Trash and indigenous materials.
Sustainability and future plans
There is already an existing furniture market for custom made and ready-made products in the industry in Nigeria and around the world. However, we find that the low income earners in the society make up a greater percentage of the population hence, we are carving a niche for ourselves in ensuring we provide quality furniture for these class of people primarily, as well as for Clients seeking exotic pieces.
