Explain your idea in details:
Mein objective of this idea is to produce electricity by utilising unused roof tops by installing solar panels. Thus making the building self dependent for their energy requirements. Installing solar panels is not the USP of this idea but utilisation of unused roof space is. As per data, 1 KW power can be generated from approx. 100 sq-feet area of roof. For a middle class family in India, the installed electric meter capacity is approx. 5 KW. Thus by installing solar roof panels on approx 500 sq-feet roof area, the energy demand of such family can be satisfied.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Dependency on fossil fuels is reduced and thus reducing pollution. Produced electricity can be used for self consumption and extra energy may be fed to electric grids.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
This idea is more of a liasianing with different organisations to get their permission to install solar panels on their unutilized roofs. After getting permission from a building owner, solar panels may be installed by an experienced government approved agency. The excess power generated can be sold to the power distribution agency. However it requires two way metering system. It means, when enough power is not generated from solar system, then power can be drawn from electric connection provided by power distribution agency and when excess power is available, the excess power can be fed to the grid. This excess power fed to the grid is sold at a pre fixed rate with power distribution agency.
