A fair chance for mothers and children
Explain your idea in details:
The main objectives of this project is to improve the ability of mothers and children to achieve goals of self-sufficiency by giving them opportunities they thought were unattainable; to empower mothers and children in establishing goals and following through on commitments and to help them move from survival to thriving by giving them access to education, healthcare, financial resources, nutrition and agriculture trainings. We want to give mothers and children ability to develop their full potential.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
We aim to target strategies that cause structural changes, reducing the need for ongoing dependence. We are working with Village Heads to proactively select mothers and children with the absolute highest levels of need. These are low-income abandoned mothers and children, who need help to regain a home for themselves and their children, to put food on the table, obtain medical attention and facing the most significant barriers to future success. We will provide mothers access to financial education, job training, assistance with starting up business and marketing their products, neglected children get all necessary things to attend and finish school.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The project will generate income from selling of our products like T-shirts, pens, handbags, cups, water bottles. Also we have strong volunteer to help with supervision, training, evaluation, reporting and taking actions on improvements. We have asked donations for the project funding. We have asked for government, school, villagers and agriculture team support. Everyone has agreed to fully participate and provide help as needed to help these abandoned mothers and children bit poverty.
I am one of the founders of this project. I am 31 years old. I was born and grew up in Tanzania. My childhood, life experience and my purpose in life motivates me to volunteer and help other people get the needed help. Before this project we have been helping 4 women and their 15 children. After successfully helping them, we decided to start a project that will help more neglected women and children in rural Tanzania. We aim to improving the ability of mothers and children to achieve goals of self-sufficiency by giving them opportunities they thought were unattainable. It is very important to us that every mother and child is given chance to explore lifes possibility. We address the needs of these most vulnerable mothers and children, empowering them to move beyond their circumstances to become healthy, contributing citizens. We recognize that education is critical towards breaking the cycle of poverty that these vulnerable mothers and children face.
