Explain your idea in details:
If you can`t write your idea on the back of my business card, that means you don`t have a clear idea David Belasco. MAIN OBJECTIVE Main objective of my idea is creating a Recycling center in Vranje, where old, worn out tires will be recycled in the production process for their original purpose. Also, multipurpose products are obtained by recycling, and at the same time, the public health and environment are protected, and the preservation of natural resources is ensured. By tire recycling we can obtain: -60% of rubber granulate, -35% of steel wire and -5% of canvas. Uses for recycled tires: 1) traffic: as supplement to asphalt in road construction, accessories to road industry (parking and signaling pillars, curbs, rail crossings, road barriers), auto parts, 2) sports and recreation: surfaces for sport courts, children playgrounds, paving walkways, gardens and areas around swimming pools, 3) construction industry: coverings for roof insulation, sound barriers, waterproof membranes, porous bitumen binders, rubber pipes, 4) household: production of rubber parts for households, protective flooring, solid tires for trollies and trash cans, flower pots... ACTIVITES Activities are creating the Recycling Center on the teritory of the city of Vranje. The city of Vranje is in the south of the Republic of Serbia and it is the seat of the Pcinja district. It is located 70 kilometers from the Bulgarian border, and 40 kilometers from the Macedonian border. INOVATIVE APPROACH Inovative approach is that creating this kind of recycling center is extremely important for this part of the country, because there are no similar ideas on this part of the teritory of the Republic of Serbia, which represents the possibility of opening new jobs, economic benefit for the local community and and environmental protection.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
EXPECTED IMPACT The European Union passed a regulation in 2003. according to which the disposal of waste tires is not allowed in nature and municipal landfills. In Serbia, according to the data of the Ministry of environmental protection, there are more than 50.000 tons of automobile tires. This dangerous waste ends up in municipal landfills, green areas, in riverbeds, on the periphery of urban areas. About 1.4 million new tires are placed on the market in Serbia annually, on the basis of which it is estimated that about 18.000 tons of waste tires are being produced. SOURCES OF OLD TIRES - tire repair workshops - car workshops - transport companies - construction companies using field equipment - individual household MEASURES TO EVALUATE SUCCESS The ammount of recycled tires ADVANTAGES OF TIRE RECYCLING 1) minimizing of waste quantity at the source, 2) recycling of waste tires and processing them for future use, 3) depositing waste tires in collection centers (recycling centers), 4) economic profit, 5) creating new jobs in the recycling center, 6) possibility of engaging persons with disabilities into the work process, 7) environmental protection, 8) creating sustainable development at the local level, 9) saving natural resources and energy. VISION Recycling today represents a vital activity, something that should become a modern lifestyle, and our vision is that as many people as possible accept this attitude, by realizing this idea. MISSION By promoting the principles of socialy responsible business management by realizing this business idea, we will make the world a better place to live today and tomorrow. CONCLUSION So this business idea gives a huge opportunity to create sustainable habits by raising the awareness about the importance of recycling, creating new investments, opening new jobs, and above all, sustainable development at the local level.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The idea of the Recycling center is in its starting phase. It needs securing the starting funds in order to be realised. DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS MODEL In the last couple of years in Serbia the awareness for the necessity of solving the problem of accumulated waste is growing, and more and more people are included in the recycling chain. The process of rubber waste recycling is 100% ecological, there is no detrimental effect for the environment nor does it create any further waste substance. In other words everything is usable and by production of rubber granulate which is further being reused, we protect the natural resources. Our goal in the future is the maximum use of the available resources through setting up new standards in rubber waste recycling thus completing the whole process of recycling ang giving our contribution to sustainable development and protection of the environment. FINANCING SOURCE - applying for the start up credit - donations COLLABORATORS In the begining it is planned that the Recycling center only collects and separates the tires, so that they can be transported to a recycling plant in Novi Sad, which has the appropriate machines. Later on, by acquiring the appropriate machines, the Recycling center would get to its full capacity, and turn from a storage facility into a regular factory which would employ people and help in preserving the environment.
