Conserving water by just changing the sewage structure in large residential buildings(apartments).
Explain your idea in details:
The main objective of the idea is to conserve water as today in some areas there is heavy scarcity of water and in such places conserving water in such quantity in that amount of investment can be adopted by every one. There is no establishment of any treatment plan nor requires any high investment. The approach is very simple is includes a penny of investment. It requires only a little modification in the drainage pf a building and the drainage of daily chores like bathing, washing utensils, washing clothes, washing hands etc, instead of flooding to sewage must be routed to the flush tanks where the water can be reused in the flushing of the toilet. This requires only cost of pipe lining in routing and on a rough estimation can save up to 6,341 gallon of fresh water in a building of 1000 residents.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This can be revolutionary idea in the conservation of water as this requires very small investment and in projects like building of apartments and hostels this amount of investment doesn't even comes in consideration. It includes only the cost for routing the drainage to the flush tanks of the toilets instead of flooding them to sewage. The major targets are the residents where huge mass of community lives like government apartments, hotels, hostels and other such places. A normal flush tank has a capacity of 6 liters and a person if we do rough estimation flushes at least 4 times a day, so a person uses 24 liters of fresh water in flushing daily. let in a normal building there are 1000 people( like hostels, apartments), so there in a day about 24000 fresh water is used in flushing. So by using this architecture a considerable amount of around 6,341 gallon of fresh water every day.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The idea is offered to others for implementing. They may be the builders, contractors, architects who used to design the infrastructure of a building as this idea can be implanted best in the initial phase of structuring a residential building while lying the drainage of the building. There is not amount of financial source required as I already mentioned that the project includes only the expenditure of the pipe lining.
I am Yashwant Singh Karnwal, pursuing my graduation from G.B. Pant Institute of Engineering & Technology from Computer Science & Engineering trade. I am 24 years old and my dob is 21/07/1994. I lives in a hostel and there i noticed that throughout the day lots of fresh water is used in the flushing of toilets as students flushes every time they use toilet. So I came up with an idea that why shouldn't we use the already used water in flushing. This is my motivation for the idea. As by adopting this technique we can save huge amount of water.
