Waste to Energy/ Making Fuel out of Plastic and Polyethylene Trash.
Explain your idea in details:
Many pundits describe the present time as the "plastic age" for good reason and as such we generate a lot plastic waste. Among that waste is the common polymer, low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which is used to make many types of container, medical and laboratory equipment, computer components and, of course, plastic bags. Recycling initiatives are in place in many parts of the world, but much of the polyethylene waste ends up in landfill, dispersed in the environment or in the sea. The technique breaks down polyethylene - the most abundant plastic in the world, used to make everything from plastic film and food packaging, to water bottles and shopping bags. Around 100 million tonnes of the stuff is produced every year. A viable solution to our plastic problem couldnt come soon enough. Weve been piling it up in landfills that kill people, burying it underground, and letting it accumulate in the oceans to form giant floating trash islands. Yep, our global response to plastic waste is pretty much the equivalent of shoving everything under the bed and hoping it will magically stop being a problem, but by 2050, its estimated that there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans. As Fiona MacDonald reported for us earlier this year, 95 percent of plastic is thrown out after being used just once, and 8 million tonnes of plastic - or one garbage truck-full every minute - ends up in our oceans each year. "If no action is taken, this is expected to increase to two [truck-fulls] per minute by 2030 and four per minute by 2050," a World Economic Forum (WEF) report revealed in January. "In a business-as-usual scenario, the ocean is expected to contain 1 tonne of plastic for every 3 tonnes of fish by 2025, and by 2050, more plastics than
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Summarily This Idea would bring about the following impacts to Sustainable development: 1. Job Opportunity to our beloved Citizens of Nigeria 2. Sanitize our Environment by getting rid of plastic polyethylene waste on the land and water bodies. 3. Boost the Nation's Economy Through fuel production and Job Creation.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
This project requires low starting and running fees as few hands can manage it. What is required to implement the whole project is depending on whether is intended to be small or big company. If it is going to be a small company, then First to start up, It will require 5 Hundred-5 Million Naira for the combustion Chambers and the collection tanks,Pipes and Catalyst. Secondly it will require about A hundred thousand Naira for power and Laborers. To actualize this dream i will love to partner with the government or any trusted fund supporting organisation to secure funds. Hence after after 1-2 years of financial support that the project will take care of itself.
