My name is Muhammad Usama Sadiq and I am 25 years old Pakistani citizen. Presently I am enrolled in Masters program in International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy at Hochschule Furtwangens Berlin campus which is being organized in cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD). My interest for the social sector started when I was very young as I witnessed my family members working for the uplift of disadvantaged communities. Consequently I developed keen interest in the social sector. Bringing up in a Pakistan community and obtaining degrees of British origin in education System in the form of O levels, A levels and BSC Honours from University of London has further provided me an opportunity to expand my academic knowledge. This, in turn, has inculcated a great desire to gain knowledge which reaffirms my commitment for achieving SDGs. In addition I have been associated with a grassroots level NGO Society for human Empowerment and Rural Development (SHER). My parents are among the pioneer and board members of SHER, which provided me a platform of working with the local communities at grassroots levels. I have worked as a volunteer in this nonprofit organization working for the welfare and development of local communities. The focus of SHER is to envisage an ethical, equitable, inclusive and progressive society in which people have power to improve their own lives. Being the development organization, the NGO focused initially focused on MDGs which consequently shifted to SDGs. Moreover I have also been working as a volunteer for the British Council Ilm Possible Take a Child to Schools (TACs) Project. This project was aimed to enroll out of school children in Government primary schools. My major responsibility inter-alia included to identify out of school children, completed school profiles, ensure retention rate to reduce drop out in schools.
