How to use unnecessary textile in Kazakhstan
Explain your idea in details:
Nowadays finding cheap, comfortable and fashionable clothes is not a major problem. Mass-markets offer new collections almost every month. It is sad to r ealize that people who buy offered wearing apparel do not realize where it came from or who was it made by. Therefore, people need to learn how to do deliberated shopping to solve this issue. Kazakhstan is a developing country, so the chances of developing fair trade or eco-brands are extremely low. Even manufacturing domestic products is uncommon. However, solution to this problem exists. Despite the challenges that might come up, it is essential to create an eco brand in Kazakhstan. In addition to the fact that domestic goods will gain popularity, the social concern for the environment and eco-education in Kazakhstan will be promoted. So the main goals of this project are: 1) to develop the level of eco-literacy of people: selling clothes made from the old ones will remind customers that they are able to save 2700 liters of water, which is usually used to make a regular T-shirt; 2) to increase the popularity of domestic goods (wearing apparel); 3) to use less raw material and bring less harm to the environment: new clothes will be made from the old ones/ unnecessary textile; 4) to create new job opportunities for people with disabilities.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The solution attracts people's attention to the following sustainable development goals: responsible consumption and production, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure. This project is beneficial for people in Kazakhstan. It will affect Sustainable Development positively. Usage of unnecessary textile will reduce the usage of raw material such as water etc. It means that water can be used in a different way. This project will target all groups of people here. The major idea of project is not only to produce clothes from the unnecessary textile, but also to make people think of harmful and damaging processes which have taken place in our world, such as lack of resources, air, water pollution etc. It is extremely important to create something influencing people's minds, because it will affect their actions. Manufacture of wearing apparel will create new working places. In Kazakhstan, it is quite difficult to find a job for an employee (if he/she has any of physical diseases). Employers are usually scared of hiring limited people. According to the Ministry of Labor of Kazakhstan, there are only 302 people with disabilities in Kazakhstan, who was hired in 2018, and,, unfortunately, none of them are from the capital. The success of the project can be measured in the numbers of sales and the fame of the eco-brand. If customers prefer eco-safe made wearing apparel instead of other ones, then it means that they are interested in care about our world.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The eco-brand will work with all groups of citizens. The wearing apparel of the eco-brand will not be more expensive than mass-markets. Prices must be same because material which will be used is unnecessary textile and old clothes. They are not too expensive to buy. The project can be invested by private companies or state programs (people with disabilities will be hired). Collaborations with fashion designers will attract more people to by clothes.
My name is Tleubayeva Taniya. I was born in 2002 in Northern Kazakhstan. I am a student of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology of Pavlodar. However, for this project, it is not important who I am and where I am from. The important thing is what I want to bring or change in this world. Even if I am young, I see problems in our society and try to find ways to solve them. My goal is to create something, that will help the humanity in building a really wonderful world. In my opinion, a wonderful world is a harmony of following things: equal rights and opportunities, no lack of resources, responsible consumption and production and, of course, development.
