Main objective: To maximise what each region has in abundance through agro-processing to empower communities thus sustainable development. Activities include: 1. Mapping-identification of natural resources in abundance in locations and strategic planning. 2.Skills Transfer -empower identified locals with food processing skills relevant to the natural resource. 3.Enterprising/Commercialisation-Start processing and trading and improve community livelihoods. 4.Evaluation and Monitoring-for sustainability. Innovative approaches set include:Technology Transfer-Processing and preservation principles such as canning,modern packaging such as vacuuming,pouches.Modern Maketing Strategies such as Social Media and Online sales points.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This concept focuses on developing a multidisciplinary understanding of how food systems work and at the same time eliminating the main drivers of global food insecurity, malnutrition and poverty through the development of agro-processing intervension structures at district level. The communities at large stand to gain the conceptual and practical skills necessary for region specific agro processing interventions thus arresting challenges through citizen empowerment, enterprenuership and Sustainable development. Measures to Evaluate Success:Impact assessment is to be made. Continual Monitoring and Evaluation are set to effect onset of projects and beyond,tools such as questinnaires are to be used.This would have provided baseline data on the food security and livelihoods of the communities and thus continual assessment would surely evidence success prospects.

Belief: This initiative highly relies on the notion that meeting human needs while protecting the earth s life support systems is crucial , thus the use of nature s abundant raw materials/indigenous raw materials is key. The business model prioritises sustainability and aligns profit and societal impact.With more focus on reducing emissions, energy usage, water usage and waste; recycling; using renewable sources of energy; and developing greener products.The triple bottom business model is highly eminent and essential for this initiative.This is to say that the project is set to be accountable for its financial, social and environmental performances.In effect, TBL is the idea that it is possible to run an organization in a way that not only earns financial profits but also betters peoples lives and helps the planet.The elements of the triple bottom line are referred to as "people, profits and planet."
