Main Objectives: 1. Improve physical and mental wellbeing of the teenage mothers below 21 years old in Morogoro Municipal 2. Improve knowledge of teenage mothers below 21 years old with life skills, childhood parenting and income generating activities trainings. 3. Improve teenage mothers below 21 years old communication and rights movement through their network. Activities: 1.1 To mobilize and provide psychological counseling support to teenage mothers and their families 1.2 To facilitate formation of the network of (MTWN) from a grassroots level. 1.3 To organize members Network Quarterly Sports and games tournament to advocate their rights. 1.4 To facilitate members Network Quarterly meeting discuss their issues with government organs and other development partners. 1.5 To provide comprehensive trainings package of life skills, childhood parenting, sexually reproductive health 1.6 To provide entrepreneurial education trainings on business, budgeting, marketing and financial management to teenage mothers identified. 1.7 To facilitate home monitoring visits to track progress and records keeping. Innovative approaches: During the implementation, Participatory approach will be in line, by providing frequently opportunities to teenage mothers empowered through project, by themselves express their concern through special meetings with local community social workers, parents, policy makers, decision makers, medias on discussion of the challenges they faced and threats situation which affect their future Quarterly teenage mothers Sports and games tournaments will be another approach, to spread massage of exiting group of teenage mothers on what they face and what they need from community and government to re-build their dignity. Teenage mothers Network will be effectively way to build unity and strong voice among themselves in addressing their concern issues and simple way to connect with government social departments and other service providers for. Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The expected impact is to contribute resilience of life to most vulnerable teenage mothers below 21 years old in Morogoro Municipal in terms of wellbeing and economic status. The target is to reach and networking 1450 teenage mothers, who are in critical circumstance from 29 wards of Morogoro Municipal and connecting with Government social welfare officers and other community development stakeholders for having further assistance. We expecting that, through planned activities will contribute enough to re-build again the circumstance of target groups to be capable to care their children and participating in production activities through knowledge given by project which will reduce amount of dependent to their families, and increased self-confident. Before project takeoff, we will make baseline survey within the project coverage area to identify how the situation is; the information will be kept for future evaluation. The Evaluation will held middle and after implementation of the project, however the project will set daily monitoring and evaluation on each stage of the implementation, the lesson learnt will used to improve service delivery and advisors. In each stage of implementation will collect success stories based on project results and be published through Quarterly report which will be shared through media and distribute to other stakeholders and government departments. To ensure quality and sustainability of the project, the participatory approach is a mainly method which will be using to transferring ownership of the project to beneficiaries, starting initial stage of identification and register, that mean project leadership will remain in the hands of beneficiaries themselves while governments and other stakeholders will remain as advisors and supporters. Also beneficiaries will be well trained on good governance and leadership process.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The implementation of the project is planned to be implementing in one year starting on month of November 2018 and ending on 30th October 2019. We will identify 50 most vulnerable teenage mothers in each ward times 29 wards of Morogoro Municipal and make total number of direct beneficiaries of 1450, their children will be the second beneficiaries who are expected to be the same number of their parents of 1450. The average of 90,000 USD is needed to build resilience of life to 1450 most vulnerable teenage mothers and 1450 their children. The budget required will be used to cover planned activities and provision of basic equipments to facilitate engaged generating activities through the knowledge acquired, in which will ensure project sustainability to beneficiaries even if after project phase out. Currently we dont have any real able financing source, to fund the project idea out of this request proposal. During the implementation my Organization of MACEDONIA DEVELOPMENT GROUP will collaborate nearby the ward social officers from initial of identify and register most vulnerable teenage mothers who will join with the project, also in each stage of implementation will work in strong collaboration to ensure efficiency and make project to be recognized by Government.
