Summary of your idea

This project is a campaign to inform people of the different unique locations within Mexico that not only have cultural value for the country but are also opportunities for business and growth. The idea is to create a series of videos dedicated to showcasing Mexico for it´s less known regions and aspects to attract investment and visitors to these areas and help push Mexico´s tourism industry. We wish to approach this idea distinctly by generating user content from around the country of people showcasing their experiences and best moments within Mexico especially in lesser known areas.

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

While the premise of the idea is simple we believe that adapting this kind of user experience to the representation can not only help generate knowledge about an area but it can also generate business within those areas. We hope to start within our state and expand the project nationally. While indicators that directly reflect if our campaign helps regions economically may be difficult to study clearly we can surely study the amount of views and public perception changes that can occur.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

This idea is part of the Foundation Yo Por Mexico which has recently established itself as a foundation and has in place funding projects through corporate sponsorship as well as support from the Tecnologico de Monterrey (ITESM). This allows us to have a structure in place as a team of 60+ active student members that can aid in the logistics and planning of such a project. We have previously worked with TV companies as well as with marketing and image consultants with which we plan to continue working with for this project, the actual image was developed by one of them. This is a project that we hope to grow and obtain funds from government tourism boards as well as corporate sponsors. Lots of this campaign is user generated which lowers costs and can generate revenue in ad time. How doed it work? We produce a campaign of some place in Mexico, just with the purpose to stand out the beauty of our contry, with our own material and people, afterwards we promote the campaign in different social media, bringing up some sponsors logos who supported the project. The Sponsors and partners fund the creation of the material and promotion, they earn the image as and adventurer and fun brand, specially between young. The BM is simple, but it has given us great results till now.

My name is Carlos, I´m 22 years old, I love sports, knowing new people and believing that we can make happen the change we want to see in the world. That´s why we started this NGO, because we want to impulse Mexican success, we are certain that if we make a positive change in people´s mentality, we can go further that we can possibly imagine. It´s a huge motivation for us to see that if you aim high, you get even higher, and to see a lot of people be touched by your vision and effort, it´s just amazing. Best reward you could get. We are against the settling attitude and not be decided to achieve more for yourself and for others. We can do always better!
