Smart Solar Street-lighting Scheme for Non-electrified Areas

Summary of your idea
The main objective of this idea is to provide a smart street-lighting scheme for the areas which are not yet electrified. Solar lighting provides a feasible solution for such areas. But the solar lighting system cripples during winter and cloudy seasons. My idea is to exploit the solar lighting system in an efficient manner. With the emergence of a general purpose GPS accurate spatial position, time and solar angle can be obtained. With the help of these parameters, the alignment of solar panel can be adjusted so that it works at its maximum efficiency. The other thing which can be done is that with the help of a data network, a near accurate next 12hours weather data can be obtained. This real time weather data can be used to chalk out the lighting plan for the remaining dark hours. With the advent of LED lights, the lumen can be adjusted very easily. So for a cloudy day, though there will be very less solar energy generation still the street light works for the entire night but at less lumen. This will save the area from a complete dark situation.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The idea will be very helpful for the places which are still non-electrified. I want to especially focus of on the most populated state of India, Uttar Pradesh. This state is power deficit state. There are still many villages which are not connected by a power transmission grid. The life in these areas are running behind a century. People are victim of illiteracy and unemployment due to no-power situation. Women are facing severe security problem during dark. My idea will definitely help them to improve their life.

In the context of green energy, many nations are funding such kind of technologies.
I am a graduate from the first space university of India namely, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. I have been working in the field of space science and technology since 2011. My aim is to work for the poor and illiterate people of the country.
