Summary of your idea

Universities have been the medium for most teenagers to gain access to opportunities available for them with the credential to have graduated a certain university. It is the way people think that enduring and persevering all the challenges and struggles by the university can grant students access to opportunities for work. However, not everyone have the fortune to be enrolled in any university or even education for that matter. Poverty is one of the primary reasons why many people especially children are deprived from education. Education can bring hope to not only the poor, but to everyone This website is an online educational platform where users can learn for free. This site enables the users to learn from the basics to advanced lessons to learn and especially to help them achieve their dream occupation. The articles and lessons are also conveniently organized into college courses such as science, accountancy, marketing, etc. Test questionnaires and activities will be provided for users to test themselves without the pressure of failing but with the desire to succeed. Chat boxes will also be integrated to the site to communicate with other users (either public or course divided) to discuss and aid their learning. Advertisements of scholarship, internship, and job offering programs will keep the site running but most importantly, give the users a chance to be enrolled to a university with a scholarship or even work in a company. With this said, I believe that this project can definitely help not only the poor but to everyone with the desire to learn. Education is a right to every human being living in the world. For a person to be successful, a person just needs to have a dream to persevere onto. This site helps people make that dream happen through education

Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development

The site should primarily target in places deprived of education most especially the poor urban and rural areas. This would provide the users of the site to opportunities to real universities and companies. In turn, this will also give the companies and universities potential excellent workers or students to enroll or accept who are willing to learn or to work despite their own limited resources.

Plans for implementation and sustainability

The site is to be made for free in order to make it most affordable for the least privileged after expenses like electricity and rent for computers are accounted for. To keep the site up and running, advertisements of scholarship, internship, and job offering programs will be place by the side of the page. To be accepted by these programs, users are assessed by evaluations made by the programs themselves. All proceeds from the advertisements are to invested for the sustainability of the site and for donations for users to be accepted into those programs.

Your profile

An 18 yr. old sophomore college student in Cebu, Philippines. I pass by squatter areas and poor villages every day I go for school. There are always children outside the campus begging for money, food, or drink. I plan to do something about it. To teach them how to catch fish, not just to feed them fish in which have them hungry again the next day.
