Summary of your idea
The ATHAL Institute For Excellence (AIE) will foster mutual understanding, develop global leaders, and protect academic freedom worldwide through educational exchange and training programs in pursuance of its vision and guiding principles. AIE will be governed by a Board of selective shareholders of the ATHAL Group of Companies, who bring a diverse set of skills from leadership positions in the public and private sectors, including colleges, universities, corporations, and philanthropy. AIE intends to get established first in India, and after one and a half year in Mauritius. In its work around Asia and Africa, AIEs global offices and experienced staff will develop significant expertise, capabilities and best practices in a set of core areas. These include understanding important developments in international education; strengthening higher education institutions; building the capacity of individuals, especially women and those from under-represented populations, to address critical issues; and training future entrepreneurs and innovators.

What AIE will do? DEVELOP LEADERS Building leadership skills, promoting a skilled workforce, and enhancing the capacity of individuals and organisations to address local and global challenges will constitute a vital part of AIE's mission. The long-term and short-term training programs arranged by the Institute will connect students and professionals with peers and colleagues around the world and prepare them for leadership on a host of urgent topics and issues from social activism and politics to terrorism and interfaith dialogue essential to advancing peace and prosperity for all. PROVIDE EDUCATION SERVICES Utilizing its resources, AIE will develop effective and innovative programs by keeping in mind an international quality education. AIE will conduct research and provide information to the public and academic community, and convene educators, policymakers, and philanthropy executives to discuss strategies for fostering international cooperation through international exchange. HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT AIE will work closely with public and private higher education institutions to develop high-quality academic programs in cooperation with governmental, nongovernmental organisations, and corporations. Leveraging extensive higher education networks worldwide, AIE will uniquely position itself to help shape new universities and expand the capabilities and partnerships of existing academic institutions. PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT The Institute intends to partner with governments, international development agencies, foundations, universities and corporations, leveraging its international networks to collaborate on sustainable solutions for long-term development. AIE is committed to working with local communities in developing countries to advance education and economic development through training and scholarship initiatives, to prepare emerging leaders in the public and private sector with workforce development skills and leadership training, and to build the capacity of NGOs and civil society organisations to achieve their goals. EMPOWERING WOMEN AND GIRLS AIE will increasingly focus on global programs that use science and technology to support, train and connect women, equipping them with the skills needed to fully participate in their community and the global economy. AIE will also open a specific Centre for Women's Leadership Initiatives to provide opportunities for women worldwide to participate in cutting-edge training, professional development and exchange programs, and pursue higher education.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Prepared to launch in March 2014, AIE will start operation at 480, Manav Colony, Saketri, Sector 1, MDC, Panchkula, Haryana, India. AIE will be a new educational institution, a promising chain of teaching leader in the international exchange of people and ideas. In collaboration with governments, foundations and other stakeholders, AIE will provide programs of study and training for students, educators and professionals from all sectors. Programs will be tailor-made as per the location of the institution (country-base). AIE will also conduct policy research, provide resources on international exchange opportunities and offer support to scholars in danger. Its head office will be located at Chandigarh, India. Prepared to launch in March 2014, the business will target 18+ students. AIE plans to remain privately managed, provide employment for as many motivated and professional youngsters from the different fields as far as possible and create steady incomes for those employees. The ATHAL Institute For Excellence (AIE) will be solely owned by the Athal Group (www.athalgroup.com). It will be incorporated as a Private Company Limited under section 24 of the Companies Act 2001 by share with the Athal Group, sole owner of the business.
Objectives AIE wishes to meet the following objectives in its first 5 years of operation: 1. Get academic and industry affiliations from renown international organisations; 2. Establish a branch in the Republic of Mauritius; 3. Establish a branch in the United Kingdom; 4. Provide full-time employment to a reasonable number of professional staff in all branches; 5. Reach a student record of 5000 per year; and 6. Reach a profit margin of minimum INR 30 Crore.
