Summary of your idea
My idea is based upon the empowerment of people who are in both short term relationships and long-term relationship through safe H.I.V/AIDS home testing kits that make it easier for them to be able to not only keep track of their H.I.V/ aids status(you can test yourself every three months) but will also enable partners in long/short relationships to be able to test each other without any excuses, and a mobile application that provides information, reminders on when to test H.I.V/AIDS, counselling, prevention and proper exercise and diet solutions to help those with H.I.V and those without, keep healthy.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
I strongly believe that H.I.V/AIDS is one incurable devil that has stalked Africa, my continent, for so long that once it has been dealt with, once and for all, this would truly contribute to not only the development of Uganda, but also to the development of Africa and the world at large. A healthier human resource is a more productive human resource because people can always be educated, people can always be facilitated but once people are not healthy their productivity will always be short-lived.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
We have a very simple plan to implement this idea through first sensitizing of people on not only H.I.V/AIDS but on the prevention through introducing of safe home H.I.V/AIDS tests as one of the new methods of prevention while causing H.I.V/AIDS awareness amidst the population.
I am a 26 year old male who grew up in a very big family. A year ago I began dating my x-girlfriend whose mother passed away from H.I.V/AIDS when she was much younger and many years later her stepfather as well, leaving their siblings to their relatives to take care of. I have also seen what its like for my x-girlfriend to grow up without a mother and the effect it has had on her self-esteem. This is the reason why I have decided to take up a cause that will bring back the awareness of this terrible disease.
