Explain your project in details:
1. Project goal To promote a culture of reading in youths 2. Specific objectives To encourage young Rwandan students to explore and discover the beauty of reading and how it will change their daily lives. To share the reading passion with other organizations involved in Rwandan education system To help young Rwandan generation to be selective in their reading and have a critical analysis about what they read. To raise a generation of passionate, consistent and world-class readers. 3. Key activities Training volunteers, teachers and facilitators Working with parents to help their children with reading Training students for effective participation in clubs, competitions and camps Running, monitoring and facilitating weekly reading clubs of 40 students per school Organizing yearly reading competitions and camps Organizing awareness campaigns in the community 4. Our approach Promoting the culture of reading cant be done overnight. The approach to it should be inclusive, sustainable and well developed. We believe that the approach to take is to start early with children, equip them with age-appropriate and culturally relevant books, walk them through the lifelong journey of learning, share the passion and love for reading. That is how we will be able to raise a generation of passionate, consistent and world-class readers who are knowledgeable through books. The innovation with our approach is that it brings on board everybody including teachers, parents, writers, civil society and the government. We also champion literature that is really relevant to our culture and hence interesting to children. Our innovative approach is, summarily, to have everyone on board, equip children with relevant and age-appropriate books, run the reading clubs every weekend with children empowering them with hands-on skills and organizing yearly competitions to motivate children to pursue the amazing experience.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
1. Traceable impact in the lives of Rwandans For us the impact is a significant, positive change that addresses a pressing community challenge. This will be evaluated in terms of: The youths passion in reading books Seeing creativity and innovation in our community because of access to full information through reading. Familiarity of seeing people taking enough time to read and explore the knowledge in books. Quality education and excellent schools People being knowledgeable through books, morally and intellectually mature Having many active citizens and visionary leaders in our community who are responsible and actively providing solutions to challenges that our community is facing. Informed decision making 2. Impact on sustainable development The reading culture is one of the fundamental building blocks of learning. Becoming a skilled and adaptable reader enhances the chances of success at school and beyond. Reading is not just for school, it is for life. Reading, in all its variety, is vital to our becoming better informed, having a better understanding of ourselves and others, and to our development as thoughtful, constructive contributors to a democratic and cohesive society. Through our project, we believe to address some of the challenges in our society, which affect the overall sustainable development, including: Lack of creativity and innovation Poor self-confidence and motivation Knowledge inequality between generations (old and young) Unprofessionalism and lack of information Lack of capacity building High rate of unemployment A lot of diseases which would otherwise be preventable Very few leaders in our community

Future plans By the fifth (5) year, the project will have life-changingly impacted 31260 people, which is 56% of all reached people, including students, parents and teachers.
