Explain your project in details:
The project mainly aims at making blind community self independent. The idea is to design a unit which can be attached to a wrist band or even attached to the conventional cane as per users comfort. This detachable unit will have laser sensor for surface object detection when unit is worn as band and is turned off in cane mode. The camera in unit will carry out image processing for obstacle detection and inform user about them via vibration motors in the unit. The system will also have an app in mobile which will be connected to bluetooth earpiece to enable user to command phone to call a person or navigate using google maps without actually using mobile. The system will also integrate home automation to allow the blind to turn on/off different appliances. The overall system will also allow user to find his cane or band via the bluetooth. There will be inclusion of calling emergency contacts when user says emergency. The unit is made detachable to allow user to move unit from one cane to other on cane damage. Thus, overall system will help user be independent.

Since, I am a student yet me and my team will to work for the domain where we could build a project that could make the life of the blind community easier and independent. During the journey we will to explore and take this further and develop this as a product to use.

Currently, I am still in my under graduation (B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication). Working with Embedded Systems and Image processing led us to this idea. Have participated in different robotics competition where the task was to program robot using embedded language. I have also worked with startups to explore embedded systems further.
