Nansewe: educational mobile app
Explain your project in details:
Every year in Benin, an average of 200,000 candidates fail their exams (BAC and BEPC). The average success rate does not exceed 50%. How to contribute not only to a more educated student population, to a better preparation for the exams but also and above all to reach a satisfactory level of schooling in more than half of the student population in the territory? Other schools have been doing this for decades; these are schools of excellence that achieve over 60% success rate in their exams. So why not share the practical duties of these schools with this large proportion of the population to overcome this inequality? This is one of the challenges that NANSSEWE wants to face. NANSEWE is the only mobile educational platform in Benin that allows thousands of students to download proofs, proof-types, homework, TD, audio and course videos, and white exams of the best schools. Teachers can send their parents meeting notices, information about their children (absence, notes) via SMS or email. There is also the possibility to download digital books (library), search for repeaters. It offers an advertising channel for schools, universities, companies involved in the educational field. We plan to implement in the near future the management of schools to our activities. Our main goal is to promote school equity, which will contribute to better academic performance and more educated youth.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Universal access to basic education figures prominently in the declaration of millennium adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. Through our activities we promote school equity and quality education because we believe that education is the vehicle for all development. Education is an engine of economic growth: it conditions the modification of social behaviors and modes of production, it is a source of productivity and competitiveness. It has undeniable positive effects on the environment and the management of natural resources, demography, hygiene and sanitary conditions. It is a condition of sustainable development. Through our website www.oniveau.com and our mobile application, we impact more than one million people across Africa. We are in partnership on the eve of the school exams of July 2018, with the mobile network MTN for the event "21 Days of citizen actions in Benin".
Sustainability and future plans
Our targets are students, parents, teachers, authors of educational books and companies involved in education. The download of the proofs is free on the application and the web site but on the other hand that corrected types, books, videos of course is paying. Communication between teachers and parents is subject to a monthly or annual subscription. We also advertise for businesses. To have funding funds, we participate in start-up competitions. We are in the process of forming partnerships with other foreign startups to implement school management in our activities.
