Young Entrepreneurs forum is an avenue where young people with innovative and creative minds in public secondary schools beginning from the State of Osun Nigeria Knowing fully well of their lack of exposure and low financial capacity of their parents learn what it takes to become successful entrepreneurs. We provide a framework for the assessment and development of skills, behaviour and capabilities which altogether lead to the development of entrepreneurial attributes. Our range of events, seminars, activities and working sessions will enable participants between ages 13 and 18 to understand, explore, develop their creative entrepreneurial minds and invent their notions of “tomorrow” thereby creating value, innovation and change. Our forum is aimed at building competencies in the young people and also to prepare them to be responsible and enterprising individuals that contribute to sustainable economic development of their respective communities. The Young Entrepreneurs forum presents new ways of equipping young people with essential skills and competencies for entrepreneurial development such as opportunity recognition, business planning, we also help develop their sense of initiative, creativity, autonomy and teamwork. We provide the youths with training in any skill of their choice, professional mentoring, networking, business development skills and expose them to durable means of getting the needed capital to fund their ideas.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Nigeria’s unemployment rate has been on a consistent rise in recent times and according to Bureau of statistics 38% of the population that falls within the employable age are unemployed and 65% of Nigerian youth face unemployment as at September 2016. Entrepreneurship is an important factor in the development of any nation and youths are a wellspring of ideas for innovation which would spur economic, political and social growth. It is expected that young people be gainfully engaged starting with their minds and hands as well. Sustainability and future plans
Our forum is aimed at building competencies in the young people and also to prepare them to be responsible and enterprising individuals, contributing to economic development and sustainable community development. Young Entrepreneur is simple and highly innovative in its approach seeking to maximize business creations, youth empowerment and End Unemployment. Our business model is created to support the Nigerian secondary school calendar by taking in-class trainings during the academic session and the practical session during the summer holidays. For the sustainability of the project each students is charged a subsidized signup fee of $5 each which can also be paid in installments and we have provision for scholarship scheme for students whose parents are low income earners or unemployed for the maintenance of the facility and for their personal training materials. And our financial source has mostly been funded from my personal savings and profit from my business with which we have been able to provide seminar materials, empowerment materials, books etc. we looking forward to partner with the Ministry of Education and want to call on UNICEF, NGO’s, Local and International Donors and other key stakeholders to partner with us. Our plan for Future growth is to create an entrepreneurship institute across the states of Nigeria for Continuous learning, evaluation and development of these young entrepreneurs. To be an institution that helps intending entrepreneur and start-ups by supplying them with enough resources can take their ideas and businesses to the next level. To raise over 1000 entrepreneurs and businesses across Nigeria in 5years.
Your profile as an entrepreneur
I am 27 years old Nigerian entrepreneur. I believe in God and I use his Grace more often. I am motivated by the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chapter 2 Section 24(d) “it shall be the duty of every citizen to make positive and useful contribution to the advancement, progress and well-being of the community where he resides”. I’m the president of House of Bubbles Innovations an organisation set up for business, leadership and personal development through trainings, seminars and other interactive sessions, which has empowered over 200 budding entrepreneurs at the Obafemi Awolowo University ile-ife at its annual entrepreneurs summit tagged "ONE STEP CLOSER" by networking, Business Grants, Business Partnership and books on entrepreneurship to all participant. I am also the founder of "Young entrepreneurs" a forum where young people with innovative and creative minds in Nigeria to learn what it takes to become successful entrepreneurs. Where we provide a framework for the development and assessment of entrepreneurial attributes, behaviour, skills and capabilities which altogether lead to the development of entrepreneurial attributes which has began across secondary schools in Nigeria beginning from the state of Osun. I am a practising entrepreneur; the business owner of Bubbles laundry and services a fast growing SME in the heart of ile-ife Osun state, a business he founded five years ago.
