Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
This enterprise started in 2016 as a platform to educate youths on the realities of life, how to discover purpose, leadership and personal development. I was driven by a passion to see other youths like me become responsible and to contribute positively to their society, instead of complaining and becoming part of the problems. We started our first conference in Sagbama, A local Government Headquarter in Bayelsa State the same year. We were able to train a maximum number of youths, of which 80% were in school, in self discovery, public speaking and leadership. We also visited some secondary schools around to inspire young people to look beyond the challenges confronting them, and to start thinking creatively and purposefully about life and the society. From the start we believe that education beyond the four walls of a school is a major way out of the dilemma of Africa and its economy. The Education International's policy states clearly that education is a human right and public good, as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Quality education nurtures human talent and creativity, thereby contributing to the personal and professional development of the individual person, as well as to social, cultural, economic, political and environmental development of society at large. In 2018, we restructured the platform (Under 30 CEOs initiative), created a website, became more focused on achieving the sustainable goals (Reducing poverty and promoting education), and to train more youths in Entrepreneurship and Financial Education per semester in the university of Benin, Edo state, Nigeria. We are also going wide to reach more young Africans between the ages of 14 to 30 years and to work strategically to achieve our 10,000 youth training new goal, in the next five years.
Sustainability and future plans
As long as there is Africa our organization will continue to be relevant, because the need to eradicate poverty and the establishment of sustainable businesses is now a concern for everybody both in the public and private sector of the African Economy. Our purpose as an organization is to stimulate young Africans to use their creative potentials to spot market opportunities and establish businesses for sustainable development. Using Nigeria as a case study, youths have been victimized, deprived and lured into all forms of atrocity by the political class. With frivolous promises of quick way out of poverty, youths have become the problem instead of becoming solutions to the problems of the nation. Our focus is the build youths from the grassroots and making them become intelligent tools for nation building and sustainable development through Entrepreneurship and Financial Education. African development is certain, but we must collectively focus on man-power/capacity building; and among this capacity building is the need for young and vibrant entrepreneurs and financial independence. Our mode of operation is through conferences, seminars and training workshops geared toward empowering the African youth with every necessary tools for his or her emergence at a contributor to the development of Africa and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Apart from personal financing, we are also expanding our partnership network with other like minded Foundations and Organizations like the World Assembly of Youths (WAY), Global Konsult Group (GKG) etc. to sure continuity and financial sustainability. Our future goals include; Building an entrepreneurship training centre for excellent service, Creating Blue-prints for governments in respect to youth development, Taking youth empowerment to a more strategic level and continual improvement of our services to the society.
