PROPOSAL FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BOREHOLES IN UKPAH COMMUNITY,BEKWARRA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF CROSS RI
Explain your project in details:
The proposed seven boreholes project will be constructed in Ukpah-Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria in order to effectively solve the safe water problem in the community. For many years now Ukpah Community members have been suffering because they have to fetch water from diseases and worm infested pond. Every year there are many deaths in the community related to unsafe water, mainly through infectious diarrhea. These causes of diarrhea annually mean that poor water is one of the leading causes of death. Almost 60% of the population in the community lack access to any form of improve water supply. Water borne diseases are a major threat to the community affecting their poor economic base. The boreholes project will reduce the outbreak of water borne disease and health hazard associated with water related problems. Provision of water supply in Ukpah Community is a challenge that has remained unmet, therefore, the inhabitants resorted to sourcing for water from diseased and worm infested pond as shown in one of the pictures uploaded.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
The impact of this project will make water safe for the community, makes homes free from water related diseases such as diarrhea that is the order of the day in the community. It will also prevent the deaths of community member caused by water-borne diseases and makes the people healthier so that they can live more productive and fulfilling lives. The project will contribute a lot to poverty reduction. Most of the meager resources of the people are often spent on the treatment of water related diseases. The borehole construction will create employment through informal businesses as water will be available. Above all, with this intervention the basic economic and social conditions of over 5000 inhabitants in the community will improve.
Sustainability and future plans
The Community will ensure the project is sustained through contribution for maintaining the equipment. Every household will pay for the cost of maintaining and sustaining the boreholes. Fetch of the water will be timed to ensure that the water will not be wasted.

I am Mr. Onigah, Emmanuel Acha born into a family of Mr. Ajaga Denis Onigah in 16th June, 1988 at Ukpah-Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. I batched a Bachelor and Master degree in Educational Administration and Planning. I am a director of Inung Enterprise and proprietor of Wisdom Academy.
