Explain your project in details:
THE STAIR RAMP is an invention: an affordable robotic staircase project made from locally available materials. These stairs support mobility for both wheelchair users and pedestrians. The main objectives for this project are SDG Offers universal access to humanity Improve quality of life and environment Reduce amount of space and materials for construction The ideal objective is supporting persons living with disabilities by improving the aspect of mobility in all societies. Other activities include Manufacturing the machines Making wheelchairs available Starting a foundation to support people with disabilities Creating awareness to the public Supporting innovation amongst the disabled Revolutionize the staircase and the ramps My innovation approach comes by this designed STAIR RAMP. It operates on the basis of a louver frame principle. When inclined at an angle it creates an impression of stairs and when closed it becomes leveled hence a ramp is formed. The mechanism is made possible by automating the louver frame. The user comes toward the stairs and presses a button. This action prompts the stairs to collapse its steps and automatically adjust to ramp configuration. Pressing the button again as you pass resumes the stairs (default) position. The automation is brought about by a microprocessor, bread bored, buttons, resistors, jumper wires connected. THE STAIR RAMPS are to serve at home doorstep, entrances to buildings, social amenities e.g. hospitals, schools, footbridges, airports, supermarkets and malls.
Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
Many countries in the world are pushing innovations towards sustainable developments. My enterprise cuts across several SDGs and my prototype has proven a working product to solve a worlds working product to solve a worlds current problem. This problem springs up from a crisis of values, also inadequacy of resources and techniques requisite for sustainable development. It tries to minimize the enormous gap between the rich and the poor. In suburban Africa especially where I live in Rongai sub county Kenya, I have observed people lose the sense of our universal identity as human beings and forget existence of people living with disabilities. I have seen my fellow peers and even the dear old fail to gain access to heights using wheelchairs; one cannot transverse the stairs, even a mere doorstep. The reason being it is quite expensive for middle income economies to afford enough finances to install elevators; lifts hence opt to build ramps beside the stairs. This is also quite expensive and such technology exists on urban setup. THE STAIR RAMPS cuts across homes doorsteps etc since it conserves space and is much affordable and easy to use for mobility. This makes it universal and flexible anywhere since it is portable or fixed, depending on customers preference. On matters achieving vision 2030 agenda, constituting SMEs in approximately 90% of all businesses, my project will play an important role in creating employment among youth. Improve quality of environment & mitigate equity in the persons among the society. Enhance employee, customers and investor satisfaction. Employment is available through labor, transportation, installing repairs and this will be available for the youth. Training and basic education. Improve livelihoods of persons living with disabilities.
