Impact of your enterprise on sustainable development
SEEDO has acquired massive credentials, of exemplary social welfare services, in many areas, students have been helped to get the scholarships that opened the gateway, for them to get foreign education. Women from backward and disadvantaged communities were helped to learn vocational & technical skills, and majority of the trained womens are now working as a business women. We have established 5 sewing centre in some of the remotest villages of Gilgit-Baltistan, exclusively for girls and womens, with an aim to alleviate poverty and empower females. We also deliver a regional social enterprise program that promotes inclusive economic systems. Through this holistic approach, we would like to empower women by helping them to set up small enterprises for them, which will uphold womens employment and entrepreneurship. With the development of policies, SEEDO will promote and strengthen small enterprises, new business and entrepreneurship opportunities for womens. To measure the success and impact of this advisory service and training program, our project team will use effective methods to evaluate the success. The evaluation will be done at the completion of the project and will include a number of questions about the advisory services, training's and support that beneficiaries will rate according to their level of satisfaction. This will help us to know exactly the effect of the project, the skills gained, increase in knowledge and attitude after the advisory services. It will also help us to assess the number of new start-ups by womens and access to financial institutions. The evaluation team will also make use of the key performance measure, such as proxy performance measures (Women entrepreneurs approach to national and international markets), Subject measures (Womens start-ups according to market needs) and entrepreneurial performance measures (the desire of participants to start a business, and willingness provide employment opportunities)
Sustainability and future plans
A total of 100 training sessions on women start-ups will be launched in different districts across Gilgit-Baltistan with a holistic approach to bring more business womens in the market. The existing successful business women will give these trainings with the SEEDO team, and majority of the trainers will be volunteers. SEEDO aims to link business womens with banks in order to finance their start-ups, and facilitate them throughout the course of the business (e.g. advisory services, loaning facilities from various banks, finding a suitable market for start-ups, preparing the necessary documents, so on and so forth). Women usually face problem of the sustainability when they start their business. Keeping in view this problem, our team will give trainings to womens, so that they can build their assertiveness skills, to become more confident in the decision making process in a male-dominated society. To sustain their businesses for the long run, SEEDO will help them in selling their products in national and international markets.
