The objective of our innovation is to mitigate adverse impacts on our environment by preventing plastic pollution.Innovation entails proprietary modular shoes which only flaps would be replaced several times with different materials or designs alone without wearing not more than a shoe per time.This entails utilizing recycled plastics and recycled tires to drive our innovation.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
We want to reduce the number of shoes that are being worn by at least 50% (as many people would not have to wear more than one shoe and use at least one flap to replace just the other one while the sole remains the same).We intend to drastically reduce the amount of plastic pollution by utilizing recycled plastic and recycled leather and tires for each modules of the shoes).We anticipate a change in social behaviors of people as many would develop technologies or innovations that would enhance sustainable development;where each man only produces and consumes responsibly.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Our customer segments entails male and female from 16 years of age till 45 years;with low to medium level of disposable income .They are resident in both the rural and urban areas.Acquisition channels involves brick and mortar stores,partner stores,e-commerce partner websites, SALUBATA brand website,social media (Facebook,Instagram),sale events and exhibitions.Revenue model is primarily via sales.Financing source: we currently have a leather business where we manufacture shoes,bags,mules and other related accessories.Our first source of finance would come from here to at least produce the first set of 1000 pieces of shoes.Other sources of financing are possible grant and investments from venture capitalists.Collaborators: include British Council,World bank,United Nations and Acumen-Unilever
