The importance of sustainable toys for environmental education around the world
Explain your idea in details:
This idea came from a socio-environmental project called "RECRIART" that I created and invited some friends to help me, in this project we worked with children from public schools in my city. The socio-environmental project focused on environmental education, so last year I had the idea of asking children for recyclable materials so that me and my group of friends could make handmade toys and then give them to the children, showing them a new meaning of sustainability allied education. I soon realized that the idea could be developed by entrepreneurship because it has a target audience that currently represents the future of the world and are also great news disseminators, because the socialization of children in the XXI century is enormous. Toys developed from eco-design will be able to demonstrate to consumers good quality toys and the concern of the brand that developed it not only with the environment but also with the education of the target audience. The union of the ecological design of sustainable toys with their real power to collaborate for the development of children can play an important role in the environmental education of the target public. Because the constant contact of these sustainable toys with the children can awake in them behaviors of respect and care for the environment. The use of recyclable materials in the making of these toys is another strong point of the idea because they are scattered around the world in large quantity and have a cheap and affordable purchase value. It is worth remembering that the idea for being quite visionary and ecologically sustainable can enjoy several stamps and environmental certificates.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
I believe the impact will be large and growing because consumers are currently charging manufacturers of products and services more focused on preserving the environment. The idea of sustainable toys is innovative and brings a new look to the recycling market. These games, allied to the world of education, will help not only teachers, but also parents in the process of environmental education for future generations. If manufacturers make partnerships with the government, the government of the country adopting the idea can also benefit, as it will be strongly concerned with the sustainability and environmental education of future generations.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
The business model is based on the production of toys that reduce environmental impacts and maintain fundamental aspects such as functionality, aesthetics, quality and cost. All this allied to environmental education, perfect for the rigid consumer market that has been charging for more sustainable products. These products can be marketed to toy stores and schools, as the process of teaching students has increasingly used games and toys. The idea may have a government interest in supporting and forming partnerships. It is important for the manufacturer to partner with recycling companies and toy designers.
My name is Jorge Rodrigues Ataides Junior, I'm 18 years old, and I'm from Brazil. I live in a very small town in the interior of Mato Grosso, which is the 3rd largest state in the territorial extension of my country. Nowadays, I am Geography student at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. I always liked to study. It was in high school that I began to think about how I could collaborate for a better and more sustainable world, during this period I had the help of great teachers, like teacher Marinalva, who helped me to select and apply my ideas better. Last year, I created the "RECRIART" socioenvironmental project that had as its main focus environmental education, I and some friends made several programming in this area for our target audience, which was the students of public schools in my municipality. This project was my biggest inspiration to enroll in the Youth citizen entrepreneurship competition. In 2017, I was in third place - state level - in the writing contest of the Public Defender's Office (DPU), with the theme "More rights less Grades", which approached the Brazilian prison system. One of the things I like to do is write about social and environmental causes, and they have always been debated by me with great seriousness and importance, that is, with my entrepreneurial idea will be no different.
