Explain your idea in details:
In Morocco, one percent of the population is suffering from Gluten Intolerance which represents two million of Moroccans. What makes it worse is that this disease is not well known and doesnt get the attention needed. In fact, when you want to go out and eat outside you find yourself in the total absence of specific meals respecting your condition so you feel obliged to bring your meal with you because youll find no restaurant who cooks gluten free foods. But more importantly, the few gluten free products offered in the market are way too expensive and most of them are imported such as flour and biscuit. So, the idea that I want to implement is the production of 100% gluten-free products through a closed circuit and then commercializes it through a radical process that begins with the cultivation of a variety of gluten-free plants such as corn and chickpeas. More specifically cultivate different sort of plants in a 100% gluten free process and after harvesting them we will transform the seeds into flour and a mix of all varieties. But the most important plan of my business idea will be the introduction of the AMARANTH culture in Morocco, a drought resistant plant that contains two times more iron and four times more calcium than the wheat. The idea also aims to prepare gluten free dishes that will please the celiac people with a reasonable price. All in all, my idea is about producing 100% gluten free foods from the beginning of the process and by that offering a new life to the patients and reintegrates them into society.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
People who have this disease are very distant from others they always have problems where to eat therefore they are away. Imagine yourself not being able to eat an biscuit on the road while you are hungry because you very well know that it's not gonna end well at the end of the day. Also the products available are so expensive that people start calling this disease the luxury disease because only rich can afford to pursue tehir diet and live a healthy life, not being able to continue your diet can result to so many incoveniences in your health and can even result to your death. I want to impact people's lives by providing to them affordable products.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Firstly I plan to find collaborators that sell gluten free seeds such as Chickpea , corn , millet and sorghom and the transform them into floor because the plan of planting and harvesting is gonna take awhile. But before that I need to find investors because that is the huge obstacle that stops me from starting my start-up, I am applying to different competitions and incubators to finance my project. For my marketing strategy I want to start making video about gluten free recipes and upload them on youtube and the facebook page but also make books and e-books about different gluten free recipes.
Zineb Belkharraz a 20 years old student born in Rabat Morocco, I study Physics in the faculty of science Rabat and since the first year of university I was with a club called Enactus where my idea surfaced and was born. I learned plenty of things while being with the club as the first year I was a member at a project and I also was presenting during competitions, and the second year I was the Vice president of administration and finance a position that requieres strong leadership skills. In the summer of 2017 I volunteered with AIESEC in China to teach young student english in a rural area and it was an eye-opening experience for me as I discovered a new aspect of life and meet people from accross the world.
