Explain your idea in details:
The indiscriminate felling of trees for paper making has increased over the years thus contributing to global warming due to the fact that forest trees that were supposed to serve as canopy cover to the Biosphere are cut down almost every day without a commensurate replacement. This is traceable to mans increase need for paper and its products. This has raised a major concern for botanists and environmental scientists. From the foregoing, my business aims at producing commercial quantity of multipurpose paper from waste recycled papers. I will also have a paper manufacturing institute where I will train young people on how to make new papers from recycling of waste papers. By this, my company will reduce unemployment, reduce importation of papers and enhance productivity of our youths.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
My company will have profound impact on the country as it will create job for youths, promote local products, promote environmental cleanliness, increase national revenue and identity while discouraging importation. Disposal problems will be reduced by using waste paper to produce new paper because for every ton of paper used for recycling, the savings are: At least 30,000 liters of water, 3000-4000 KWh electricity (enough for an average 3-bedroom house for a year because most of the energy used in paper making is required for the pulping needed to turn wood into paper and 95% of air pollution.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
We are committed to providing quality and affordable multipurpose paper for our customers. We are in the recycling business to make profits and we are going to do all we can to achieve our business goals and objectives. Our product shall include; a. We will act as waste paper collectors thus eliminating paper dumps b. We will buy waste papers from other collectors in our locality thereby creating wealth for them c. Pulp making for our own use or for sale to other paper manufacturing industries. d. We will produce and sell multipurpose paper e. We will establish a training institute for our youths No matter how fantastic your business idea might be, if you dont have the required money to finance the business, the business might not become a reality. Finance is a very important factor when it comes to running a business such as a modern Printing Press. No doubt raising capital for a business might not come cheap, but it is a task that an entrepreneur must go through. We therefore anticipate our funding from these 3 major sources. a. Generate part of the start-up capital from personal savings b. Source for soft loans from family members and friends c. Apply for Banks loan/Grants The future of a business lies in the numbers of loyal customers that they have, the capacity and competence of the employees, their investment strategy and the business structure. If all of these factors are missing from a business (organization), then it wont be too long before the business close shop. One of our major goals will be to build a business that will survive off its own cash flow without the need for injecting finance from external sources once the business is officially running.
I am Kingsley Akpodiete, I am 35 years old, a graduate of Human Physiology from Delta State University, Abraka and an entrepreneur driven with the passion of becoming my own boss within the shortest period of time. This passion is borne out of the increasing unemployment rate in our country resulting from the fact that, the number of youths graduating from tertiary institutions yearly, is on the increase and these graduates posses little or no practical knowledge and skills needed to perform excellently in their chosen careers thus, they end up seeking for employment in any available establishment just for the sake of earning a living. This leaves our government with no choice than to spend extra money importing human capital from abroad. As a graduate myself, and also faced with this monster of a problem, I decided not to join in the search for unavailable jobs, but to learn practical skills, establish a company, train fellow youths and become a successful entrepreneur. The following are my leadership skills; I have the ability to manage myself even under pressure while maintaining my integrity. I have good public relations. I have the ability to thrive where others fail to see and harness opportunities and finally, I am a good team player. All these skills contributed to my success as the Pioneer President of the Student Physiological Association of Nigeria, Delta State University Chapter from 2005 to 2008, the CEO the first computer centre established in my community in 2010, Computer Instructor at Adam Igbudu Christian Institute, Emevor, where I developed the ICT curriculum in 2014, Secretary of my Church from 2014-2018, the Head of Biology and ICT Departments in my community school, Financial Secretary to the Implementation Committee of National Open University of Nigeria Emevor Study Centre.
