Wakulima Call Center will be the first in my country, with a population of more than 60 million people. 33.2% of a population are from urban areas and 66.8 are from rural areas. In my country more than 70% of people depend on agriculture as their main source of income, but do face many different challenges. The country has one agricultural university which produce good experts, though very few graduate each year. This has resulted to decline of agricultural sector.The Wakulima call center aims at providing agricultural extension education service to all farmers through mobile phone. The education services will be provided to all farmers (animal keepers, crop farmers and more others), also to those people who may want to venture into agriculture. The Wakulima call center will help the government in agricultural policy making. Provision of technical support to farmers example in types of seeds, fertilizer or breed to use. The center will be useful in researchers and farmers linkage.The center will work with the government, international organizations in matters related to agriculture. Also will help in market finding of produced goods. The Wakulima Call Center will have different agricultural experts in farming, animal keeping, veterinary doctors, animal nutritionist and many other. The center's activities will be receiving calls from different farmers and will be done by receptionist , record them in a database, listen to their issues and direct the call to expert. Expert will give answers on a related issue, and make sure farmers are satisfied. The ideal will use technology, where it will involve the use of any mobile phone can be smart phone or not. My country have more than 30 million people connected to phones. Farmer connected to phone may call for free and express his or her agricultural issues.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
The Wakulima Call Center is expected to have big impact to youth, who may want to venture into agriculture but do not know where to start. To farmers who face challenges, they may call instead of looking for extension officers who sometime comes from very far and its also expensive. Also impact on produced products, they will be of good quality because of advice which came from experts. The idea will have an impact on job creation in agriculture sector. The idea will have impact in policy making, when government want to create policy relating to agriculture they may contact the center to help them.I graduated from the agricultural university in 2015, since then no job, and if you want to venture into business you need capital to start with. Many of my friends till now are still looking for job, though they have knowledge and skill to employ themselves in agricultural sector,they don't want to take risk and try. The government has made it easy, no tax in any agricultural activities. Many other friends of mine who did not study agriculture are in crop farming and animal keeping business, but they are struggling to get information on proper farming. At the end the produced products do not reach the market quality demand and be rejected by the market.The Wakulima Call Center is expected to be like encouragement center to new people (youth) who want to engage in farming or animal keeping but they don't know where to start especially youth. Since the ratio of agricultural extension offices and number of farmers does not match, the center will be alternative source of agriculture information, because it will be free and any farmers from any place can call and get answers.

I was born in October 1991 in Tanzania at the region called Mwanza. I'm first born from the family of five children. In 2012-2015 I was elected to join one of the prestige agricultural university called Sokoine University of Agriculture to study Bachelor of Animal science. I did not want to study it but one of my uncle encouraged me to take it because he knew its value. in 2016-2018 i joined masters of business administration at St. Augustine university of Tanzania, the reason was I wanted to know more on marketing the product because i know the production. After graduated I established a small factory of milk processing, its called Kwanzaa Yogurt. Its also a startup small processing unit but I have customers especial organizations who are involved in taking care street children and youth. I came up with this idea because in my country more than 70% depend in agriculture, but the way is practiced is very poor, few experts to guide farmers and some are expensive. Availability of agriculture input is very scarcity too, even suppliers are not located everywhere. Through this call center many farmers and non farmers will get assistance very fast and at anyplace.
