Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
Our target is on the youths most especially secondary school students. We focused on the youths because we believe that if we begin with the youths, our future will be secured; because we would be planting the seeds of greatness for our future to blossom. We believe that the success and strength of our community begins from the youths, which will require their foundation to be, outstanding, upright and crime free. We're looking at training and empowering about 100 to 400 students in my community annually. The success of the project will be measured with the impact and effect showed on the youths within six months after the project. How the resources, raw materials, finance, instructors, facilities, etc., were used will be used to evaluate the project; the main reason of the project is to reduce the rate of crimes among youths of my community by creating employment opportunities for them, that will be another means to evaluate the success of the project as well.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
So far, we (my team and I) have made some plans on how to implement the project most especially finance to push it. Although it is not yet proven that it will work that way. The business model of this project is have at 100 to 400 trained and empowered teenagers who are successful after the project. And we intend to used the best students among them as instructors in the next batch of training. We're partnering with a vocational institution that will act as the official institution where the training will hold. In other words, were collaborating with the vocational institution to bring the best form of skill knowledge to the youngsters. We're equally collaborating with the secondary schools where these students are coming from to enable us have full access to them. Our source of finance comes mostly from our sponsors and supporters. We also intend to charge a very minimal service fee just to get the students to take the training and program serious.
I'm a girl of 25 years old, born on the 28th of April, 1994. I'm from Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. I'm a student of Anambra State College of Health Technology studying Health Information Management, currently on my Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) at Federal Medical Centre, Asaba Delta State Nigeria. I was motivated to carryout this project because of the kind of lifestyle that is found among youths and teenagers in my community which has led to massive increases in crime, death, and numerous numbers of evil. A lot of people have come to see youths in my community as violent, corrupt, criminals, and all manner of crime perpetrators. These moved me into bringing a new face and name to the youths of my community.
