We have about 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana. When we are able to engage at least 20 facilitators in each district across the country, we will be employing about 5200 young men and women.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
Farmers and other players within the agribusiness food chain can advertise and market goods or services from any part of Ghana after launching. However, the FCFs engagement will start from the Eastern Region. The second and third respectively will be the Brong-Ahafo and the Northern regions. FarmerCash shall generate revenue from fees paid for the placements of ads by customers. Ads placements are in two forms. FCFs who are trained and certified will always be at the community level to assist smallholder commercial farmers, producers, industries, service providers, manufacturer's, transporters, distributors etc within the agricultural food value chain including those who do not know or have experience in the usage of smartphones to submit ads for consideration. The Additional revenue shall come from the selling of banner Adverts(Ads) space to entities and individuals, monetize unused Spaces via Pay-Per-Click(PPC) Ads, create membership packages and take fees for featured Ads. However, source of financing up to date is from Kolada Farms & Trading Company Limited. An agricultural business entity I founded in Ghana since 2013.
My name is Teddy Addah. I am a farmer and businessman who lives in Navrongo the Upper East Region of Ghana. I am 34 years old and a second born of my parents. Studied public health at the Catholic University College of Ghana but now into Agritech and agribusiness full time. Most of my farming operations are within the Upper East Region and some parts of the Upper West Region. FarmerCash is a solution I have been thinking about for about three years now. I consulted most of the players in the agricultural food value chain to seek for their opinions on the possibility of potential customers(smallholder players) reactions towards the digital and marketing space in the agricultural sector . The indications were positive and that served as a motivation to me. The digital and operational nature of FarmerCash could be replicated in other Africa countries and that as well served as an additional motivation. We are currently supporting about 1000 maize farmers in Ghana with credit in the form of inputs, extension services and mechanization through the Kolada Farms & Trading Outgrowers Program(KFTOP). The desire to support and grow smallholder farmers is a responsibility at Kolada Farms & Trading Co. Ltd. "The Smart Farmer" is an agro solution package which is meant for first time farmers at Kolada Farms & Trading Co. Ltd. This package is designed to minimize all the stress and challenges as a startup farm.
