An application for tracking schedule & administering vaccination & immunization to children
Explain your idea in details:
In a broad sense the main objective of my idea is to plug in the loop holes in the present vaccination program "Indradhanush" that India has. I sought to achieve this by introducing an application which will help in doing much of the manual work digitally and provide a targeted and effective outreach system which will in turn help bolster the vaccination coverage in India. In the present system, the target beneficiaries are identified by a head count survey which is generally done by Anganwadi workers which is very vague and discrepancies might arise if utmost care is not taken. I propose to digitize the way of identifying target beneficiaries by registering each and every new born child at the time of birth itself and for pregnant women it could be done at the time of first pregnancy check. This would highly enhance the efficiency of the current system which is in place.
Expected impact of your idea on sustainable development
This idea of mine would help achieve 100% vaccination coverage in India by digitizing it and also by making it a lean process. This will also help promote Good Health and Well Being for everyone as it is always said that " A healthy mind resides in a healthy body." The application would also have a due beneficiaries list which would help evaluate the extent of success.
Plans for implementation and sustainability
It would be completely a not for profit process as the aims and objective which the idea aspires to achieve are related to social welfare and general well being. As far as the source of funds is concerned, I wish to tag along with the Government of India in their voyage to achieve 100% immunization coverage in India. In the budget for 2019-20 , INR 6758.46 cr has been allotted for the National rural Health mission and INR 699.96 cr has been allotted for National Urban Health mission. Together they make a total of INR 7458.42 cr. Even a smallest fraction of it would be enough for the idea and its implementation. The process will start at the time of birth in case of new born baby. As soon as he/she is born, his/her name along with bio-metrics would be logged in a network of servers which would be connected to the application which would be their in their parents phone. As soon as the due date for the next vaccination arrives, the parents and the people concerned for the administration of the vaccination would get a notification in the app, an email alert, a text message and a phone call from the people concerned with administering the vaccine. During the phone call a suitable date and time would be agreed upon for administering the vaccination. The administering agent/partner would visit the home or the premises agreed upon on the earlier decided time and administer the same. Post vaccination guidance would be provided through the application and a doctor would be available for home visit on Call basis.
